Perhaps the club could raise money through other channels than asking their members to give it to them?

Yes, I support the club. I pay membership dues and go to games, buy some merchandise and buy some raffle tickets.
Doesn't mean I need to be a "financial supporter" or donor. The club is not a charity. If they want some more money for nothing perhaps some of the highly paid players could donate a bit back rather than asking supporters, many of whom would earn less than a third of what the players get.

But you are being a "financial" supporter already by being a member, buying merchandise and sum raffle tickets. Its only $150 plus your bying into a piece of history.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...
But it's just a brick. It's nothing special and it's hardly a great 'piece of history'. There is no real purpose to it but to take yet money from supporters. I have some magic beans and an historical clod of dirt if you'd like to waste your money...

Pffttt, a Melbourne membership. Mellbourne based membership = not a real fan.

Yeah, got me there! I wonder if people can donate some money to me and I will use the money to buy a Sydney membership.

I have a bridge for sale, with good views of the Sydney Opera House.

Well that I'm willing to do (since you aren't going to spend any excess on VB).
