Genuine question? I reckon it is a 50/50.

It all depends on whether the leadership group have any clout in the seconds.

They don't make much contribution to the number of goals kicked in the seniors.

Their "ignore Nick" system has a big influence on the final score though.

And that's why they are in the 2's. No 'bloods' spirit - keep shovelling it out and getting it through the big sticks. If Spriggs wants senior selection he MUST learn how to create a stoppage.

                They're different types of players...

Did you get along and watch him in the twos tonight? He was clearly wearing a big target as far as the Hawks players were concerned- he took a few rather heavy knocks and refused to go off, ran himself into the ground and was throwing himself at everything. Played with a lot of ticker.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I saw the second half of the reserves, I don't know what his first half was like, but I thought Nick's second half was a little disappointing. Played in midfield for a good portion of the time, but just couldn't seem to get his hands on it, and seemed to spend more time walking than running, compared to the rest of the team.

Now I'm not Nick bashing, I really hope he finds some form and comes back into seniors soon.... but I wouldn't have thought what I saw of his performance to be a dazzling announcement that (1) he is back in form, or (2) he is fully fit.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

He only really faded in the final term des, he still got quite a bit of it in the 3rd (and still had a fair few touches in the final term at that)- he played on the ball for pretty much the whole game so it would be fair to start to fade late. He didn't go to the bench for a breather once, also took a few heavy knocks that had the trainers coming out to him (looked like "hit a star to get a story to tell at the local" day for the Tuggers) but he seemed to refuse to come off for any of them and was just trying to run them out.

He certainly looked a better player than a few that were in the seniors last night.

Fair enough stella, as mentioned I only started watching from the middle of the 3rd quarter, so his best work might have been done by then.
