    Reggie

Grundy what a debut! I liked his holding off of Bowden before marking it. Exactly what he has been doing in the reserves.

PS Reggi, time to dump the LRT avatar. There's a new hero in town.

A dream debut for the kid. Contributed more in one game than Benny has for the whole season.

I am not expecting to have Reg get the nomination this week - apart from Rd 1/2 they seem to wait for players to string a few games together first.

Last Rising Star nominee would have been Paul Bevan.

It must have been a game plan to make him the go-to man in the forward line. Richmond would have been double teaming hall and MOL, leaving Grundy with the lesser defender. Good plan, and Grundy stepped up to the challange.

                  Heath Grundy

I can't find any mention of him yet so here it is.

                  What a debut.

He looks like a seasoned performer already.

A great debut. It shows form in the 2nds can be carried into seniors despite the weak Canberra comp. Now if only Schmidt and Willoughby were also given a chance to impress.

I couldn't see the forest for the trees.

I should have guessed the Reg Grundy thing.

Just merging the threads guys (and managed not to delete everything. Hooray!)

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Blight commented on his forward defensive skills and he also had no problem working up the ground. 106 minutes says his fitness is good too.

So was Phillip's fitness good which says IMHO that the squad fitness regardless of the 2's comp standard, is pretty even.

Phillips would have been very fit before he even arrived at the club. To be that small and succeed you have to make sure you take care of everything within your control. Reports of him from his junior days indicate he has always been very dedicated from a training perspective.

That said, the Swans do look to have done a good job fitness wise with all their younger squad. A large part of the reason why they are winning with huge margins is that even against the better teams they are able to run out games much better. Ten-goal-to-not-much have been pretty common.
