I would rather the swans pick up Gardiner than Everitt, more use would come out of Gardiner since his only 27. Everitt's career is almost over, not worth a 2 year deal.

I can't get this really, why is Sydney always linked with washed up players and has beens? I though they stopped relying on patching up the list and try to groom some home grown players.

I can't see any other club spending $700k on a 33 year old ruckman.

St. Kilda already are tight on salary cap and I can't see them going nuts for someone they got rid of because they considered them somewhat of a team cancer.

That ship sailed 18 mnths ago. Is a has been. Aker would have more to offer, but I think that he is well beyond his best also.

$700K for Everitt seems a waste. We should be able to get a decent younger ruckman for half that.

Have just got back from the Port Adelaide/St.Kilda game.

I wish we could get Brendan Lade. Some of his tap work today was a delight to watch. Plus he has a much better demenour than Spida around the ground. That would really set us up.

My money would be on a low pick in teh national draft or a direct player swap (Spriggs, Schmidt or Willoughby would be likely candidates).
I agree EXCEPT for any mention of trading Schmidt (although I really am beginning to wonder whether they view him as another McGlone).

Lade's the best ruckman in the league this year. Most taps to advantage, and handy around the ground.

Probably could have picked him up a few years ago, but the doors shut now.

This is pure lunacy. Better off getting Michael Gardiner than a meat head - Everitt. Everitt's track record is ordinary and will only add to the disciplinary problems we already have within the club.

According to the Herald/sun today Peter and his wife are looking for property on the Mornington Peninsula they have till October i think it said before they have to leave there current residence.
Remember Peter comes from the Peninsula (Crib Point)
I think i would pefer it if we went after the West coast reject.

I think Spida has a couple of yrs of good footy in him so a 2yr contract at the most. At the Hawks at the moment, he is doing nearly all of the work in the ruck. If he was with the Swans, he wouldnt have to shoulder as much as the workload he is now.

Apart from that, he is a good player and unlike our current ruckman playing in the seniors he is good below his knee's. So once the ball hits the deck he is rendered useless.

And the Free Barry Hall sign at the Brownlow last year earns him brownie points!!
