i wish we had everitt this season , we would be on our way to back to back. he was 2005 all australian , and is the best ruckman around. he will go the distance and now has maturity. and ffs everitt at 33 is better than doyle or chambers will ever be

what drugs are you on chow-chicker ? do you actually watch football ? , gardiner has played 3 games this year , after a woeful 2005 grand final , then pre season alcohol offense, then last weeks debacle. not to mention his ganster mates . he makes everitt look like an angel.
everitt 2005 all australian , and playing great football this year. no off field incidents for a few years. because he has grown up and matured. give me everitt any dayComment

Gardiner may be young enough to learn but doesn't seem to be smart enough. IMO, he's not worthy to don the red-and-white jersey ever. I'd rather have Everitt over Gardiner. It's probably too late, it would've been better if we got him in the 2005 Draft...I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Gardiner is the best option for the swans, he needs to start fresh & he has vowed that he wants to fight his way back. I say give him another chance, his got about 5 years left in him.
dont waste $700,000 on a 32 year old man.Forget about Hall, it's all about BradshawComment

I hope we stay away from all recycled players come the end of the year. It has to be the time to take on all fresh recruits from the end of season drafts. Given that it takes around four years to make a young recruit an established player in the senior side, we need to already think of the future. Over the next few years our side is going to grow old with Barry, Kirk, Hall, O'Loughlin, Crouch ect.
Everitt is just too old. The smaller ground to run around on might help him. Also would his ego stand up to playing second ruck behind Darren Jolly ? He wasn't too keen when played behind Robert Campbell in the first rounds of this year. I think it would take more than him to be a constant premiership threat for the next two seasons.
Gardiner is just a headcase. Its also questionable that he can still play in the ruck anymore after his knee problems of a few years ago.www.fuselive.com.auComment

[B]Gardiner who has potienal to turn things around & try to get back to his AA form?
Over summer he got himself somewhat fit enough to once again play in the ruck for more than 5 minute spells, but thanks to him turning up to training once during the pre season drunk he was banned from the club and its premises for nearly two months and sent to his WAFL club. In that time he battled not only injury once again but also suspension.
However he worked himself into the Eagles coaching staff's good books and was allowed to rejoin training with the main group once again and with the injury to Cox got his chance of senior football and game time in the ruck. He played OK football, but nothing close to his 2002, early 2003 form. Then of course as we all know he went for a little drive last Sunday and crashed his car and has yet again been suspended by the club and looks like he is headed out of the club.

Having said that I don't see the need to go for either player.Once was, now elsewhereComment

Everitt has been arguably the best ruckman in the game for the last few years and, by his own admission, is playing well below his normal standards this year.
He also pointed out that he is get a lot less game time this year, so his performance measured by statistics will show a downturn in HO/Disposals.Comment

Gardiner was an AA "interchange" . He was beaten to the ruck position by a certain Adam Goodes because Gardiner's knee gave out towards the end of 2003 and he wasn't able to ruck full matches in the last month and half of the season because of his knee injury. His injury then kept him from playing in the what AT ALL in 2004 or 2005 (only in pinch hitting roles for 5 to 10 minutes every few matches and never to any great effect). When he did get on the field he was used at full forward (which we saw in the Grand Final was a huge success, Not), when the orignal plan by West Coast was to play him at CHF.

I doubt he does. His knees are worse than those of Doyle's and his off field hi-jinks are more than just one off, they are long term issue that need more than a "fresh start"

Yes he has a slight problem with his foot but will resume in the WAFL this weekend, he still has 2 legs & can play football when his up & going which will be next season.
Im thinking you would rather Paul Chambers to stay with the club, suit yourself.Forget about Hall, it's all about BradshawComment
