Okay, there are strong arguments for all sides. One compelling reason for picking up Spida is a premiership in the next two years.
Realistically I can't see the Hawks going deep into September at all in the next two years.
Spida will want to play for a team with a realistic chance, and as a result of that would he bust his guts and do all he can to win a Premiership before his playing days are over? I don't know, but let's say yes. A ruckman with Spida's tap abililty working with our 'blue collar' premiership midfield would be a great combination. He would also fill that gap that Ball left. The ability to take a mark up forward, for a shot on goal, or down back in the last line of defence.
Another question, can we run him over the pits a get a full medical before we take him?

Anyone in favour of signing Gardiner should watch a replay of the 2005 grand final

I can see little value in trading anything for Spida. Spida
            would make a good hawk.

Thanks...but all things considered hard to see that Spida (a) has much to offer that (b) would fit the bloods "ethos" or should that be "overblown myth"?

Maybe if he joins us then we could work on becoming a team of extroverts? Davis and Spida could start with Schneider maybe, then Magic and Goodes (I'm thinking of great individual talents). Together with some of the new kids they could attempt a revolution and become a team of exciting show ponies! And to top it get Sheeds to replace Roos.

They discussed it on WLF tonight. He didn't deny anything EXCEPT to say that he hasn't spoken to Paul Roos on the phone. He denied nothing else. He said he was waiting to hear from Hawthorn in the next few weeks.
