    Tough run home

Port Adelaide - have already beaten us once this year, loss
Essendon - have already beaten us once this year, loss
Melbourne - have already beaten us once this year, loss
Geelong - above us on the ladder, loss

    Brisbane Lions - should win
    Carlton - should win

Let's not worry about top four. Let's worry about the eight.

Port away and Geelong away are bothe very tough assignments. I don't care what anyone says - we play poorly at AAMI. 2003 final was as much about Port choking as us winning. I am not sure if we have won their since.

Geelong at the Cattery is never easy and it appears they are returning to top form.

We will definitely known before the finals whether we are contenders or just making up the numbers.

Port Adelaide haven't played well at home either. They've won 3 and lost 6 which includes 1 "away" match against Adelaide. I say we are a chance against Port.

Somehow I doubt Essendon will beat us. When they won in Round 1, they had LLoyd who had 26 disposals and kicked 8 goals. Essendon aren't even good enough to beat Carlton...
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

If we don't win at least 5/6 and probably 6/6 we 100% will not go back to back.

Certainly if we drop 2 of the last 6 games we have virtually no chance of making top 4, which makes BTB very very difficult.

However, the key is to stay away from drawing Adelaide in the preliminary.

If we do that then we can still go on and win away into the GF.

History suggests it's highly unlikely outside the top 4, however I don't think teams 2-4 will necessarily stand out relative to teams 5-7 this year.

I almost think it's better to finish 5th or 6th if West Coast and Adelaide finish 1-2. If we make the top 4, it'd likely be 4th rather than 3rd which would mean a trip to AAMI to face Adelaide, who would be particularly hard to beat after they lost their Qualifying final last year. West Coast in Subi is no easy task - it's incredibly hard to win there (though I think our team would have more belief than most) and a loss would mean a similar scenario to last year, which would be unlikely to end up as well 2 years running.

St Kilda have probably the toughest run home (Freo @ Subi, West Coast, Geelong, Western Bulldogs, Brisbane @ Gabba and Richmond) so I'd be surprised if they finished top 4. On the other hand, Collingwood plays Essendon, Hawthorn, Carlton and the Kangaroos in their run home, which could mean they take out 4th (though hopefully 2 trips to AAMI in 3 weeks could make things tougher for them).

If Adelaide and WC finish 1-2, then you have to play them over there eventually.

I think there is a chance WC will slip down to 3rd or 4th though.

Our toughest assignemnets will be Melbourne and Geelong. If we cannot beat Essendon then we don't deserve to be in the eight. How embarrassing would it be to lose twice to the wooden spooners, especially if they win no other games in the year.

I'm taking positivesv from the fact that we have won most of our away games this year and we are playing better on bigger grounds. History? You've been watching too much SBS in late June/early July
