    2006 best and fairest

At this stage i would reckon 1,2 and 3 would be:

Goodes (has had some blinders, and just looks great this season)
Buchanon (I think is having a great season)
LRT (I know, but really has not done much at all wrong this season and I expect is doing all that is asked of him).

    What d'youse reckon?

    That sounds about right.

Certainly not many on the team have been consistent over the entire 16 rounds. My fav five are:

      1 - Goodes
      2 - Schneider
      3 - Buchanan
      4 - Hall
      5 - Barry

I'd have Schneids at 4 I think. I have enjoyed watching him play this season. Hall has had a few very good games, but not consistently good enough. Given that the coaches vote, I reckon LRT would be up there for the reasons I gave up top.

Gotta agree with you about LRT, I was as vocal as the next person about getting rid of him early last year, but he has been very consistent and even in conversation with opposition supporters they have been complimentary when he has beaten their "stars", he really is doing what he needs to do, stop a key forward every week. Great to see his continued improvement.

Agreed. I was definitely apart of that *Get Rid Of LRT* Army.. But Now Very Much Agianst It. 2 Dads Definitely Makes My Top 5 This Year. Goodsey, Buchanan, Schneider Yes.... Barry Hmm Dunno, He's Been Annoying The Crap Outta Me This Year, Not The Player I Know He Can Be!

At the moment I think it would be

                Goodes

                daylight

                Hall

                a bit more daylight

                Jude Bolton

                the rest

                Goodes doesn't need much comment.

Hall's relatively lean last month probably has people forgetting that up to then he was in pretty good form. Roos commented that he was just about BOG on Saturday night. It wasn't one of his very best games, but I reckon he gets a lot of credit from the coaches for the amount of hard running he does - and deservedly so.

On a similar theme, Bolton's had a very ordinary last few weeks but in my eyes he was clearly the most consistently good player for the first 10 weeks or so, even ahead of Goodes.

Buchanan has had a very good spell in most games but doesn't yet seem able to do it over four quarters. Schneider's first few weeks were pretty quiet and his impact in the last fortnight has slipped a little too. B2 and Kennelly have both been pretty consistent too. I thought LRT had slipped back a little from his last third of last year - his performance on Brown aside - but in the past month he's starting to get back to that level again. I also think some on here have under-rated O'Keefe's overall contribution. I know there are some games where he hasn't been as prominent as others, but he's one player who I suspect is often asked to sacrifice his game to take someone else away from the play.

I think all these guys would probably be top 10 if the season ended now.

Edit: Ugg posted his thoughts above while I was typing this. Looks like we're on a similar wavelength.

Come on ROK - I'm sure you were still on the 'LRT is useless' hobby-horse just a few short weeks ago- what caused the turn-around?

And FWIW : Goodes/CBolton/Hall/JBolton/ROK in the top 5.

                            Goodes

                            LRT

                            Kennelly

                            Buchanan

                            C. Bolton

Don't forget how the run of Kennelly turned the team around when he came back in. And he's played pretty consistently since.
