Pretenders - Stage Door Left - See ya!

Reading through the threads on this board I can't believe the amount of people asking for Kirk's head/ questioning his value to the team/ abusing him in whatever manner.

Not only is this guy an AA, he is a leader of the club, touted by many supporters (including many from here) as a preferred captain choice over the likes of Barry Hall, Adam Goodes and Leo Barry at the end of last year, not to mention the closest thing Sydney has to Paul Kelly at the moment.

Sure, he may be in poor form but the amount of criticism he is coping on this board is unbelievable and undeserving.

Seriously, I have doubted the credibility of many posters on this board for a while but those who have pulled their head out of the dirt to abuse any and everyone on the team (especially Kirk) as soon as the club struggles on field for a couple of weeks are not true supportes and nothing but pretenders in my eyes. I don't know how any of these people could possibly have stuck through the Swans through all those bleak years in the 1990s and 1980s. You remind me of Richmond supporters - love the team when their on top, through crap at them from a distance when they are down.

Maxfield copped it last year, it's nothing new for old players to fade out. Why shouldn't it be discussed? Should Skilton still be playing?

Late 80's early 90's, pfffft, you should have been there in the 70's, the Lake Oval was so picturesque, pity we only made the finals once, and set a record of (I may be wrong here) 29 losses in a row.

Mind you, it must have been harder being a Sydney based Swans supporter in the late 80's early 90's, than a Melbourne based supporter, because for those of us down south everyone felt sorry for us as our team was no longer in Melbourne.

I was at the lake oval the day in the 60s when Brewer of Fitzroy kicked half a dozen or so in the last quarter to sneak the game from the Swannies. Oooops, I forgot..I was following the Roys then..before they got kicked out and i took up with the Swans..BUT I have been loyal since !(and the Swans delivered a flag..something the poor old Roys couldn't do in my lifetime)

My first game was the PF of 2003 - so don't talk to me about hard times. Nearly threw it in there and then...

It's not about how long you've been on board, it's about how many remote controls you've broken.
