Can't see the need for Doyle this week with Port only fielding one ruckman.

Port have one very good ruckman. We have a half fit slackarse, Goodes and the blonde bombshell. The Donkey wont go astray.

The club will be very irresponsible if Kirk plays after that incident. You dont need to be a doctor to know that its not safe for him, and he wont be as effective if he did.... just by watching footy for the last umpteen years.

Bevan is a very recent example. He was well down on form last week, after being concussed the week before.

Just another stupid decision coming out of Swans central. What is going on?

The variable nature of concussion makes it very difficult to apply any one rule hard and fast to every player and therein lies the problem. A tiny little knock that doesn't even result in loss of consciousness could cause the most catastrophic problems, while a knock that looks as though the guy is lucky to have his head still attached can have no lasting effects at all. It all depends on the person. In Kirk's case, at least they have at least one factor to be aware of - his aggression levels. Beyond that though, it entirely depends how he pulls up - if he shows no demonstrable signs of the after-effects of the concussion, and passes every test they put to him, they have no grounds to keep him out as there is no rule specifying that he must take a period of time off.

Do you have a Nick Davis doll that you take to bed with you? Fairdinkum, every post has to have his name printed in it.

Damien Cupido had a similar problem. Had immense talent and an attitude to match. Matthews got rid of him and Essendon picked him up. Two years later Sheedy was publicly berating him in the papers and in interviews. They even dropped him to Bendigo reserves. He didn't change his attitude and was given the arse. Davis is heading in the same direction.

"Fair dinkum" you can't read can you - I was responding to a comment about Davis. I didn't raise it.

They've been a much better side without him. His attitude was obviously holding them back.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Your sarcasm comes unstuck when the fact that he could have had 3 premiership medallions if his attitude was right at Brisbane.

Maybe. Maybe he would not have got a gig. Maybe his body would not have stood up to the rigours of getting himself fit. Heath James had a great attitude apparently - could easilly have had a premiership medallion around his neck last year. You cannot deal in 'ifs', especially with attitude. Attitude cannot always be turned on and off like a tap.

                            Nick Davis given weekend off
Form is one of the major reasons the club says Davis is out of the side, but the forward will not play any football this weekend.

I'll take a shot and say that i think either one of Kirk or Fosdike won't play and Schmidt will make his debut. Just a feeling.
