    Re:Auction

Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Goodsey isn't a real Blood until he gets KO'd. Thats a sure fire way to increase the value of his jumper.

So, Bevan is more "Bloodier" than Goodes? I wonder how much value his jumper is worth?

The No.4 was sitting at $250 last time i looked. Reserve Not Yet Reached

Reg' was going for the most at $800 (BBBH was only $700)

This is a fantastic way of rating the players. Costs you nothin' to mouth off and say 'X is a gun, but Y is a dud', but it's different when you've gotta put your money where your mouth is.

Further spice is added by the club setting a reserve based on how much they rate the player, e.g. Ted Richards' reserve has been reached at a $290 bid, but Leo Barry is still 'reserve not reached' at $380.

I reckon a totally excellent way of picking the side would be to pick the 22 players whose guernsey was fetching the most money come Thursday evening. No more bitching about 'Schmidt must play'-- you'd have the power to do something about it! (I'll leave it to those with more time than me to list what our team this weekend would be, if this rule was applied.)

Admittedly there is the market-skewing power of the former player's number. Is Reg really the most-loved player at the Swans, or does everyone just want a Swans' guernsey with #39 on it, to match their slug-huggin' shorts?

No. He wore the guernsey in the match he played, the same as every other reserve grade player.

I noticed during the game that they even had the no 28 and 33 guernseys out there, worn by top-up players. (Bird was wearing Crouchy's jumper.) Normally the top up players wear nos 48 and upwards so this must have been a deliberate thing to have all the heritage guernseys actually worn during a game.

I was going to bid on the Laidlaw one because he is my Lovechild. If I kept bidding against myself could I get him into the team?
