I think Channel 7 did by far a better job at calling AFL. With some exceptions I found both Nine and Ten's commentary filled with ego's and ex coaches who want tell the viewers why they would be better coaching.

I felt Seven always gave the game a bit more 'atmospshere'

After the absolute drivel discussed in the entire second half of last saturday's game between Anthony, Tim and Blighty.....I hope never to hear them utter another word.

Not completely convinced on all the camera's etc for filming behind the kicker as they line up a shot from behind....will this create a longer gap between start of play after a goal?

I hated Seven's coverage. The last thing I want is a return to Bruce and Sandy Roberts.

Bruce was great. He's looking very old now though. Same with Sandy. The last 5 years havent been kind.

I used to love Tim Lane's commentry on the ABC, but now I cant stand him. If I have to hear another lot of drivel about the "Lane" interpretation of holding the ball I'll scream. He's got to get over that he doesnt make the rules, he just calls what happens in a game.

Blighty is ok, seems his answer to any side losing is to "mix it up a little", which means put the underperforming Full forward in the ruck, and anyone under 19 in the midfield. Thanks blighty. Glad you're not coach.

I look forward to Ch 7 getting the rights, and again seeing some AFL in the Ch 7 news in Sydney. Hopefully AFL will kick on in the ratings on the back of Ch 7's new found popularity.

Yep, I'm with you hammo, I really can't stand the thought that we have to put up with this crap again. But as I can't afford Foxtel I have no choice.

I didnt mention names - and I never considered she would be in the starting line up - but hey it would be a bit of a laugh (although there would be one poster on here - from WA - and its not Sanecow - who wouldnt get the joke!)

Same. I miss nothing about the Ch 7 coverage (except Williamson, Richards and Landy!).

I find some of the Ch 9 and MMM commentary teams the best.

Ch 10 are generally average, with some occasional bright spots.

FoxFooty are reasonably good.

i like bruce. i hate sandy> he's too old.
only good thing about ten is tim lane. 9 is pretty good, mainly because of commetti. fox footy is all right... grybas is in top 3 best tv callers for mine. but i hate old coaches who cant realise that the game has changed from the times of 200-point scores and footy confetti- its NOT the 70's or 80's mr parkin and mr blight!!!
