I am not looking forward to going back to the future as far as 7's commentary team go.

The voices I don't want to hear are as follows:

        Bruce
        Sandy
        Timmy
        Robbo
        McKenna
        Dippa

I want nothing to do with them as far as bringing footy into my lounge room.

7 were quoted as saying they want to repay those that were loyal to them when they lost the footy. I am sorry, but if 7 have harboured these duds for 5 years, why do we have to suffer.

If they have been loyal, give them a bigger cheque to go home with for the last time. We need to move with the times. If 7 don't have the cash left to pay for decent callers, then they never should have bought the rights.

Ch 7 should really be showing a lot more AFL in its general news. In Sydney it seems obsessed with showing NRL news and quite often will have nothing on AFL. I would have thought, that, having won back the rights, it would at least be trying to whet the appetites of its potential viewers, but no, real head in the sand stuff.....

I must say that I do tend to disagree with most of Huddo's drivel on SEN but he earnt my respect with his call of the last quarter of the Geeling semi.

For a die-hard Cats supporter he certainly made a good fist of putting aside his personal disappointment and sounded genuinely excited. I can think of a few of his fellow Ch10 commentators who could learn from his lead.

On another note . . . . How can people not enjoy Bruce?? The guy himself might be a little 'different' but he is a gifted caller of the game. I grew up with him calling the game as Paul kelly would bust another pack, dish off an effective handpass, receive a less than effective handpass, fend off 14 defenders and drill the ball through the middle from the 50. Special.
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .

I'm glad channel 9 is losing it. I can only hope that Cometti manages to pick up a contract back at Seven or at Ten as he is definitely the best of the lot. I don't mind channel 10's coverage, though I lost a lot of respect for Walls when he decided to try and take credit for the Swans run of form at the end of the year.

If you grew up on Bruce you will be particularly disappointed with Bruce Mk II.

7 are amateurs compared to 9, however 9 no longer respects the coverage and game. If it wasn't for sold advertising, they would be wrecking it completely.

The pain of listening to Bruce "call" football...which really means reciting the facts he read up on that morning...is exceeded only by the pain of listening to him call tennis...he should stick to athletics because at least the background he sprouts is largely unknown to most of us!
