Metaphorically speaking (gee thats a big word for RWO). I cant say that his head was overly big.

Wow, I come in from Adelaide and get a completely different viewpoint to the game.

We did what we had to do against an extremely ordinary Port side. The game was pretty boring at times & we stuffed around with it in the rain for quite some time. Our goakicking is just not good enough. O'Laughlin's misses are getting more embarrassing by the minute!

It was really strange going to Footbal Park with nobody there.Quite underwhelkming to be honest. I came straight from the SANFL in Prospect & expected the usual footy traffic snarls alone West Lakes Boulevarde. There was hardly a car. We got straight into a half full car park. Even there there was PLENTY of red and white.

Tony Morwood should take a bow for the way he can co-ordinated our supporter base in South Australia. Last year we had approximatey 40 supporters at the Crows game. This year we had over 400 people behind the goals cheering on the team & using the flags & banners I brought. There were a few from Sydney & Melbourne who came across, but nearly all of the supporters with us were LOCAL South Australians!!! Several were expats from Sydney, whilst others were just people who liked the team from watching them on TV. There were quite a few Crows supporters joining us as well as a couple of obvious expats in Canterbury & South Sydney NRL jerseys. The thing I love about the games like this & Perth is the fact that the locals there are so enthusiastic about getting to see the team live. You ask them out on the field with the banner and they nearly want to marry you, they are that excited!

For the first time I think ever we had some much support at a game in SA that it nearly felt like a home game. Apart from a couple of completely off-their faces Port bogons, who duly got ejected by security in the 2nd quarter, we copped nothing from the locals at all. After our two quick 1st quarter goals you could see the look on some of their faces. Something like the look of people going to the dentist (a scary enough thought for many Port supporters as it is!).

The weirdest thing of all was the reception we got in Hindley Street after the game. It was as if EVERYONE in town were Swans fans for the night. No abuse at all, everyone elated we won. This got to the point where I asked a guy in a state of confusion why everyone liked Sydney so much. His reply, "We all just hate Port Adelaide so much you have no idea!"

Adelaide is a city of Cruisers; now I am starting to really understand the way he goes on about them so much! It seems that at least 75% of the state absolutely HATES the ground they walk on! You are either a Port supporter (turning up to games in somebody else's stolen car) or you just LOATH them in SA! One guy I spoke to said that he wanted their team to die in a plane crash & vultures to want to pick Warren Tredrea's eyes apart! My reply, a rather stunned silence!

                JF

PS:- Cruiser, the Bays smashed the Ferals in the SANFL today at the bay. Apparently the Port fans tried to start brawls as well! Gotta love SA footy!

We must have been at a different game, as last year at the crows game the CS was full. there was even talk of buying 100 kids tickets so that next time we played there we had a buffer from the feral crows supporters.

Last year we had about 4 rows of seats. This year we had at least 10 rows full of Swans supporters!

I was there down at The Bay watching my beloved Glenelg thrash Port.

                      Glenelg 27.14 (176)
                      Port Adelaide 14.11 (95)
4,790 @ Glenelg Oval (good crowd for an SANFL game)

What an awesome footy weekend, seeing both of my teams thrash Port. I didnt see any brwals down at Glenelg but I did see those two feral @@@@heads sitting behind the Swans supporters get removed from AAMI stadium. Loved it when a Swans supporter was waving goodbye to one of them as the police led him away. I never see people get removed from the footy in Sydney or Melbourne. Typical Port scum. I noticed all the police around where most of the Swans supportesr were sitting to make sure the Port ferals didnt attack them.

I was amazed by the number of Swans supporters at AAMI Stadium. The group that made up the CS looked and sounded great. JF and Peter Hatley did a great job leading the cheers while the team completely outplayed Port but were frustratingly inaccurate in front of goal.

And (only slightly off-topic) I'll be at Norwood Oval this weekend to watch Norwood-- who stunned the league leaders on the weekend-- take on the Bays. 4th v 6th on the ladder, but all of a sudden it's a clash between two of the form teams of the comp!

I wish I could be there. I use to love Glenelg v Norwood games almost as much as I loved Glenelg V Port games. Difference however is that I dont hate Norwood, I just love seeing them get beaten by my Bays (sorry, straying off topic here).

Oh do shut up, will you! You Paradites just caught the Chooks on a bad day (more than deserved winners though; the scoreline flattered the Chooks)

PS:- Adelaide in winter is heaps colder than Sydney I reckon. Both Saturday & Sunday were bloody freezing. A real chill in the air.

Is this guy what Port supporters are like?

A couple of us were eating some pizza in Hindley Street when we just happened to see this er um ......"character" standing out on the street in a cowboy hat, a cowboy shirt with the arms chopped off & a pair of white underwear swivelling a hula hoops around his arm.

                              It was this bloke!

Apparently he is an Adelaide institution. All I have to say is, "Why?"

Not to try to link this to a Sanpit thread, but I had a very long conversation with that guy one day whilst I was drunk BUT fairly rational.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
