is anyone else extremely frustrated by the fact that micky o is in the team missing goals from straight in front while nicky d has to play in the reserves because of something he said 3 weeks ago (which he apologised for, didnt he?). mick's goal kicking this year has been sub-standard at best, he can barely kick over 30 metres, and last night he kicked 0.4. it's time for nick to come back in and mick to have some time in the reserves.

No... while nicky d has to play in the reserves ...
For the record: ]Michael O'Loughlin vs Nick Davis
Is it just that or is he back on the KFC and instead of pulling his weight he has put it on?... because of something he said 3 weeks ago (which he apologised for, didnt he?)...
I happen to feel I am frustrated with him every year, though the last couple have been good - He is still doing what he normally does, even this year. On form, I still put MOL before ND.... mick's goal kicking this year has been sub-standard at best, he can barely kick over 30 metres, and last night he kicked 0.4...
I doubt it, on both counts - Though Nick back would not neccesarily be a bad thingOriginally posted by nomae

No?
In 2006, O'Loughlin 11.5d, 5.6m, 1.5-1.4g, 1.8t
In 2006, Davis 14.2d, 5.6m, 1.5-1.3g, 3.0t.

He's a shocking kick for goal even though stats would say otherwise. I would love to see his stats for out shots that went out on the full this year.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

Re: Re: Re: mick and nick
I figured that was going to come back - ND vs MOL - That's 2006 from the Swans web-site, player profile. Now you can argue my points, and I suppose that is what I put them up for, MOL's stats for the year, in my opinion, show an even performance, every match, good or bad - Davis, was good early, then just before he gets dropped, 3 matches (Rnd 10,11,12) where he may have done other things than kicking goals or it was the start of the "kick-it-to-me" antics and no-one did. A great return against Fremantle, then below average against Adelaide (and I know he wasn't the only one). Wasn't this also the match where ... nah let's not go there ... Just read my post again, take note of the last line - I am not anti-ND, far from it, and I haven't bought into the arguments over his magoos stint at all, I just wish it was this easy to suspend a work mate that isn't pulling his or her weight and still see them get full pay every month.Originally posted by NMWBloods

in 2006 nick has averaged more tackles and more disposals per game than mick. they average the same amount of goals per game (1.5).
but even more interesting is that in 3 seasons with collingwood nick got 34 free kicks, while in 4 seasons with the swans he's got a total of 17. interesting...Comment

Nick is good. I have no problem stating that here. I'd love him in the team. But at the same time, I also (still) love MOL in the team - He is not named Magic for nothing - He still has it, and although times between magic spells are lengthening, he is getting older (29 seems old in AFL) - I am waiting for an explosive game or two from MOL.
Nick also has it, a certain amount of magic, love to see him with the ball - Imagine a fit Nick Davis, committed to his job (which in this case is an AFL footballer, for the Swans specifically). Nick working in accordance with business rules (even if they are regarded as the Bloods code - Business rules, no more, no less). You and I would also get called to the boss' office and explain ourselves if we broke business rules ... Nick needs to pull his head in and give the club (and us supporters) his committment - anything else is unacceptable. If he has one more Aker-style outburst, expect him to be close to oblivion. He, most of all, needs to understand that - not us, we seem to know it all.Comment

All round it looks as if Davis has been more valuable this year.MOL is playing as the specialest forward so he is there purely to kick goals, and most are from 30m and closer(even misses from top of goal square)whereas ND is being shifted from forward,to midfield to bench,so is getting more disposals and setting up some goals also, but still has almost identical goal scoring rate but isnt spending full time up forward. He probably would have kicked a hell of a lot more if teammates were passing to him,so instead he is having his shots on goal from 40m+,but still averages the same amount of goals as MOL.The Future is Bright,The Future is Red And White.Comment

I think if we put MOL in the reserves he would not make it back to the top team for the season.
In saying that I think he should be dropped and davis reinstated...sorry MOL needs to understand his misses very soon are going to have us losing games again ..you know what they say, dirty pants- clean bottyComment

I think Davis would come out better if you factored in TOG as well. Most weeks MOL has spent more time, occasionally a lot more time on the ground than Davis. Have been very disappointed in MOL's conversion rate this year given that many of the shots haven't been too difficult.Originally posted by Grant
