    Strange definition of 'safe'.

StKilda have done pretty well in H&A in the past couple of seasons, so their finals choking is not necessarily that relevant.

Also, have they choked in finals?

West Coast thrashed Crows by 82 points on saturday. Granted now they have to travel but its at the Dome not the 'G, so I have no reservations tipping them to beat the Saints.

The past two years St. Kilda have been within one quater of making the Grand Final only to have the game kicked away from them by Port Adelaide and last year by some team called Sydney. Both of those were games St Kilda were meant to win easily. I'd call that a choke.

We'll see. WC may win, but I wouldn't say it was a certainty.

In the first final they lost to Port, in Adelaide, by a kick. They weren't expected to win that easily.

In the second, was it the case that the Swans won or StKilda lost? By saying StKilda choked you are suggesting the latter, hence implying that the Swans only won through luck.

If Saints choked in a game they should have won, then by definition the Swans were lucky to win that.

So we now have the Swans lucky to win both finals games they won to get into the GF last year.

            Says a lot...

We weren't lucky in the one we lost though so it was karma.

Not quite. We were lucky that we lost. Had we been lucky in the one we lost such that we won, karma would have intervened in the one we won - ie the big one - and we would have been unlucky and lost. West Coast were unlucky to be lucky to win the one we lost.

As I stated at the beginning of this thread. If WC do the Saints by 30 odd, Adel do Collingwood and we do Essendon, we`ll be 4th on the ladder at the end of this weekend!

And funnily enough,if WC only win by 6 points and we win by 18 pts,we are dead even with them on percentage, and exactly the same also if WC win by 18 and we win by 6(which i hope we beat them by alot more than that)

If the results go our way this week, and we do find ourselves in 4th, I think it will be a massive confidence boost to the team, because once you're in the top4 your destiny is at your own control.

If we are 4th on monday, we'll be top 4 at the start of the finals.

                            Go Swans, Weagles, and Crows.

Just saw a qoute on the Sydney site Link

(If West Coast beats St Kilda, Adelaide beats Collingwood and the Swans win by more than 27 points, they will jump into fourth place by Saturday night. )

I didn`t see that before. So all the WC have to do is get over the line on Friday, but then we MUST win by 27points to get 4th spot.
