    RIP Swans Fan

Apologies if this was already posted.

The company used an unofficial Sydney Swans design on one of their coffins for the funeral of a woman in Melbourne in December and wanted to expand the range to include other clubs.
Outstanding show of club loyalty. RIP.

Should the AFL allow the use of the club colours/emblems for funerals?

    I say yes!

I don't care whether they allow it or not, let them try and take me to court after the cremation.

No, they just chuck you out of the area if you haven't paid your $20 membership at the start of the season.

if the funeral companies charge for it as a service then they can pay for the licensing too.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

Respecting your beliefs and therefor no disrespect intended gs14, but that warning would be wasted on me ... can we leave it at that ? Thanks.

That's probably the sensible way. I just hope that it doesn't become too commonplace. I mean, do you want to cheapen it in the long run? There are other ways of recognising a person's devotion to their football team.

I personally think you should be allowed to be buried or creamated with anything that meant a great deal too you (apart from taking the living members of your family with you of course ) We had my Dad spruced up in his tux (James Bond Style) and lodge regalia - he looked fabulous, we gave him $5.00 to take with him so as he could buy a beer , little bottle of Chivas Regal for those cold nights - and a photo of the family - and that is what he wanted (he told us about 3 days before he died) but they wouldnt let him be creamated with his false teeth - perhaps there is a false teeth recycling centre that they end up at.

I'd be rather cranky (well you know what I mean) if I couldn't have all my Swans gear at my funeral. Having said that, I've paid for all my stuff, therefore I've paid the license fee, so why should they pay another one to use MY stuff?

I think its referring to the logo being painted or engraved/embossed onto the coffin?
