Blake Carracella announces his retirement effective from know, because of concerns over serious neck injury sustained mid year.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

My best memories of Caracella are from the International games. He was a natural at that game in the Nathan Brown category. It was obvious that he was a thinker about space and ball usage and was able to adapt really quickly.

I was only able to like him when he played for Brisbane as the other 2 clubs make me sick.

Blake Caracella retired, Nathan Brown out with a hammy, Jason Akermanis out for the season, Nick Davis playing in Canberra; each day the AFL gets just a little less exciting, a little less entertaining and a little less fun.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Yeah, it's a shame when good players have to retire through serious injury...
