        Tha'ts right - now I remember. Thanks.

I still thought it was an inexplicable decision. Same goes for Peter Everitt. I would rather they went for Michael Gardiner!

How can you say he doesn't fit the Sydney mould when you admit you don't know what that is?

I thought it was McDermott. There wasn't room in the salary cap for his asking price, but we were still able to participate in the PSD. It was either the PSD of '96 (when we drafted Kent Butcher) or '97 (when we drafted John Stevens).

To return to the topic of potential Swans ruckmen in 2007. I heard another whisper thet in addition to Spider we are chasing St Kilda's Ackland!!!!!
Now while I think this sounds pretty bent, it comes from the same source that told me that Ted was going into the ruck!!

I am also told we are likely to see a massive turnover of ruckmen with Ericksen and Chambers certain to go and possibly Doyle and Shaw.

Ackland's quite talented, but has a poor attitude... possibly StKilda-related! Lacks a bit of height as a first ruck, but would be a useful backup and can be quite good around the ground.

That would be a 2 year pay out for Torture if we were to let him go at the end of the year. Smart move to put him on a 3 year contract...heck smart to go for him in the first place .

"Hack"land would be a poor move as well. I'd rather keep Ericksen.

has anyone got a source for the 3 year contract or is it the usual rumour and innuendo quoted as fact.

having said that i would expect he would have been signed for at least 2 years

would be suprised if st kilda would let ackland go considering their ruck stocks are more dire than ours
