    3rd or 4th. Any difference?

If we take as a given; West coast and Adelaide will finish 1 and 2 do you have a preference of where we finish, given both trips are fairly tough?

I think I would prefer to go to Subiaco, which seems a bit crazy given our last few trips there, but surely the umpires could not shaft us again.... There would be a bit of pressure on the maggots which could work in our favour. All I want is a fair game really, I reckon we can beat them over there.

My thoughts on Adelaide are less positive. I think we have a crows coloured monkey on our back, but maybe playing well against them in Adelaide would be a big confidence booster even if we were to lose.

Would rather play them there week 1 than in a Prelim. For that reason 4th is better than 3rd. Plus, if we won...

For starters, finishing 3rd means we win all our remaining games and that has to be a good thing.

Secondly if we go to Footy Park, that means the Crows are losing games and out of form and that has to be a good thing.

If that means going to Subi, then West Coast know we're capable of beating them over there should the following umpires stay away:

        McLaren
        MacInerney
        Goldy
        Schmidt
        Vozzo
        James
        Woodcock
        etc
        etc

Both tough games but both winnable IMHO. Recent games v Adelaide in Adelaide have been close losses and the loss earlier this year was due entirely to Nick Davis.

The only side who could beat WC in Perth is us. So unless we play WC first week, the opposite prelim will be in Perth.

On the other hand, I think a Melbourne (Pies, Saints, D's) side could beat Adelaide, causing a Melbourne prelim.

So, play WC first week. Might win. Home prelim.
But realistically probably lose, but then have the prelim in Melbourne.

So its WC first week for me. which means 3rd. Must beat D's on Sat.

I think Adelaide will win their final at home this year.

So I think 3rd is a better place to be. We can beat WC (I think other sides can too though).

Also, if you have to play a prelim interstate (not Vic), I'd rather it be Adelaide than Perth.

There's nothing wrong with Michael Vozzo, his a fantastic umpire & i would be over the moon if he was able to umpire one of our finals. I never want McInerney after last year's final & forget Mclaren.

True - but on personal level would prefer 4th - that way they will play on the Friday night and I can have the rest of the weekend to recover from the celebration or commiseration
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Do they still have that rule where 1 prelim final HAS to be played on the MCG? If so then i want the one that will benefit us most which will obviously be 3rd.

No, this was changed a few years ago.

Sydney's record is much better at Subiaco and I would prefer to avoid Adelaide if we can. They have developed into a bogey side for us whereas we match up well on West Coast. Roos' record against the Crows is worst than against any other club.

Our best chance is to win in week one of the finals, get a week off, then host the PF at Telstra Stadium.

However, we dont play well after a weeks break. Willo said to Roos last year that perhaps playing right through the finals series was to their benefit, his wise words were spot on.

Dont forget Brisbane did it in 2003 - they played all the way through - but lets just get through then next 4 weeks first.

I have no preference. Both tough, tough games. Both winable though with current momentum and prospect of getting Crouchie and Davis re-introduced to the side.
