Co-captain Brett Kirk revealed yesterday the Swans' leadership group had forgiven Davis and he would be welcomed back into the team when picked.

"I think over the last month Nick has done everything on and off the field that we wanted him to do," Kirk said.

"Nick probably needs another week in the reserves to get his form, so when he comes back in the side he'll be at the top of his game."

Great article, and a good insight as to how this club has become successful. I'm sure the Save Nick Brigade (the artist formerly known as Choose Roos) will come out fighting for their man, but the fact that he has been reported to be at the centre of 70-80% of disciplinary issues suggest to me what has been the soap opera of the past month really only scratches the surface. I'd love to see him back firing, he has talent to burn, and I do believe the initial media slanging match has not been Roos' finest hour, but the Davis apologists have their heads in the sand

It's a very interesting methodology. Has a lot of positive aspects to it. It also has the danger of those being 'in' and 'out' based on misguided criteria. Will be interesting to see how it works after the team peaks.

What?? Obviously you are not a student of either psychology or sociology. There is no such risk at all.

The only risk is that you cannot find the right combination of both talent and team ethic in a group of players to succesfully win the flag.

I am not sure if the leaders should be allowed to have too much influence on delistments.

Not only does it increase the risk of an outsider like Davo getting delisted, but what does it mean when form of a leader (use Mathews as an example) isn't up to scratch?

Excellent article by Trevor Grant - I don't generally read the Hun but he seems to know what he's talking about. As for the group dynamics - if they can be both honest in their asessments and constructive in maintaining the relationship, I wouldn't worry too much about the consequences. They have achieved something exceptional, and it sounds as if Nick is a beneficiary. And so will we be!

The article says (as did Caroline Wilsons) a couple of weeks ago, that Nick's contract is up at the end of the season, but Im sure its at the end of 07. Whats the go?

I wish people would stop insinuating that I was a part of "Choose Roos". I was not.

Nick Davis has one more year on his contract - signed at beginning of this year for 2 years.
