Ted is a good mark. Played a great game - like him dropping back in the hole.

Jolly built on last week's good form and Goodes was fantastic.

Doyle had some nice touches and hopefully will remain fit for the finals. He, Davis and Crouch will give us an extra boost.

A solid 4 Qtr effort against a side who was depleted but had a red hot go.

Goodes was outstanding with 30 Possessions.
Kirk is back to his best. Just in time for the finals.

Put Davis and Crouch back in and we're looking good.

Answered a few of his critics questioning his courage.

        Thats Dr Jolly to you.

In: Davis, Out: Grundy. In Crouch, Out: Bevan would be our best possible 22 IMO.

Keep Grundy in, he's going well. Dempster out for Davis? Good solid win, goodes is going great guns and so is Jolly. GO SWANS!

            DONK IS BACK!!

He showed enough to believe he'll be more than useful in the finals

Bevan and Richards played well enough for their bashers to keep it in their pants this week.

agree. richards had his best game in swans colours by far today. bevo did enough good things to stay in the team. dempster out for davis i reckon, cos didnt dempster play forward today? davo has to come back next week. leave crouchy in the two's for some form right now. doyle didnt impress me greatly but keep him in to give the doctor some support.

                    Fantastic performance from the boys.
Goodes and Goodwin will fight it out for brownlow and Kerr will take votes off Judd.

Jolly starting to hit to advantage which is giving Kirk and Ablett much better/easier clearences.

Grundy pops up with the first goal for us again. Plays his role well as the dummy leader.

Davis should be back next week.

In: Davis, Crouch Out: Dempster, Bevan.

Richards...? Even I could get a few kicks if no one played on me!
Disposal still very dicey...even under no pressure.
Leo? Can't they make a team rule that he can't run more than (be generous) 10 metres...& also be in front at the back occasionally.
Solid win against undermanned opposition...3 or 4 finish is certainly in our hands.

did anyone notice that most of our set shots were from acute angles?

goodes was brilliant and its great to see jolly doing so well - and it was also good to see doyley back out there - he looks like polly farmer compared to torture

I think Doyle was a distinct improvement on what we have used before...well done for perseverance. Definitely in if his fitness holds up. A couple of nice grabs & can kick.
We defintely weren't getting the ball in well to leading forwards down the corridor & need to do that if we are to beat the best.

                            Phillips couldn't last week

I thought Ted was good as a loose man floating around back, he seemed to read the play pretty well as it came in (and probably stopped Leo getting more kicked on him).
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Agree with that but let's not imagine he could get away with that often.

A good solid win, but not particularly impressive. We need to play a lot better (ie: more effective) than that to beat their full side.

                                Goodes was magnificent.
O'Keefe had a great first half, but dropped away a bit in the second half.
McVeigh was very good, particularly as a small forward again.
Ablett was great on Bruce and did a few useful things.
Kennelly was very good on Yze.
C Bolton was good as usual.
                                Jolly was good in ruck.
Doyle didn't do a lot, but looked okay and didn't get injured!
                                Schneider did some useful things.

Richards is a handy loose man down back - can take a good mark. But jury still out on anything else he can do.

Grundy good early but quiet later.
MOL looked threatening, but made some strange decisions.

Hall was rather disappointing. His overhead marking is nearly at its worst at the moment.
Barry was well beaten by Neitz and made some poor decisions.
J Bolton down and beaten by his tag.
Kirk had a lot of the ball, but disposal was often poor - has a nasty habit of turning back into traffic.

Overall our disposal was just average.
Our forward line is quite ineffective at times. At one stage I saw Dempster, Kennelly, J Bolton and MOL leading to the same spot.

We need to spread out the forward line and create more space. Given how much we dominated general play, our goalkicking (accuracy and no of shots) was not good.

We need an in-form Davis in our forward line.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."
