Let's be serious here. Davis is easily ahead of most players in our team for talent, so if his form in the Reserve is okay, and most comments suggest it has been, he's easily in our best 22.

Dont underestimate Dempster. He is a key ingredient in our side.

Bevan, Matthews and Crouch are all fighting for the same spot.
Bevan is in. Matthews is a Roos favourite, Crouch is potentially the better player, but only when he's 100% fit. Anything less and its a line ball call.

The forward option seems between Grundy, Vogels, Davis and Phillips. Davis is the class player, but its only 4th forward, so players like Grundy can hold down the spot if Roos thinks Davis' inclusion is destablising. Its not finalised yet.

Then we have the utility tall. Richards is getting that gig at the moment, and is doing enough. Vogels is the other option, but I think Vogels may have burned his chances when re ran out of breath in the Subiaco game. Richards may come and go from the team depending on match-ups and weather.

Notwithstanding Ted's very good effort today, I think I'd rather have Dempster in the team than him. It could well come down to match ups on the day. Dempster is ideally suited to running with damaging, tallish outside midfielders like Embley. Given that West Coast loom as one of the three or four major obstacles to another flag, I'd like to see him kept in the team to handle this type. Last year he also played a few times as a third or fourth tall defender. If he can add this string to his bow more consistently he could become a very versatile part of the team.

And while Malceski didn't have a great day today, I too think he is already in our best 22. Watch a tape of last week's game and, while he didn't get a huge amount of the ball, pretty much every one of his disposals was spot on, penetrating and led to a scoring opportunity.

on talent alone, he'd probably be in the top 5

its hard to break into a side that keeps on winning. i think crouch would be the one coming in if they dropped dempster. grundy would have to be dropped to bring in davis. even bevan proved his worth today.

Roosy singled out Dempster as having a good game against the Dee's, he wont drop him!. Someone is going to be very unlucky ( or injured ) if Nick D is to come back - Assuming that Bevan will make way for Crouch

Davis's game today is pivotal for promotion. I don't reckon Roo's is still 100% about his fitness. Anyone going to game? Updates would be great!

I'm due for a performance appraisal right before cricket season commences and hav a number of household KPI's to worry about ATM. Will listen on the radio though - often get
some Swans bloke kicks to another Swans bloke, finds a team mate in number 40 something, kicks long, to a contest, big fella spoilt by [insert local player], Swans at ground level, handball, goal to the Swans...

For the Swans to say that Davis can't break back into the side because he's not good enough would be laughable.

exactly right .... here's hoping he turns it on in canberra today ... updates would be good since they don't post final scores until hours later and a match report days later

Dempster did some good work in the F50 to make leads/ block/ or just get in the right place without actually getting the ball himself. Just doing the team thing.

If Davo comes back it will be for a forward in order to maintain team balance. Grundy will be unlucky to miss out, however his 7 goals in 4 games would most likely to gave been at least matched by Davo.

So while Grundy will be unlucky, our team is still better with Davo in the side.

McVeigh I believe is in no danger of being dropped. He is having a sensational year, looks very confident, and most importantly is kicking goals (unlike Jude for example).

Fossie is also having a very good year and would not be under any pressure.
"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk
