      Outstanding report.

Capture the flavour and feel of the game nicely.

I particularly liked "Sydney would have been well-pleased to come away with the premiership points but will acknowledge that the overall performance was more workmanlike than brilliant. The way they were able to withstand the fierce Melbourne pressure was commendable, though not unexpected, but they struggled to find any fluency."

Doesn't get carried away with our win(s). Recognising that we are doing enough, but could do better.

"Undoubtedly, though, the most telling factor wore number 37 for the red and white."

And great summary of Goodes' game.

Yes we knew you'd appreciate that bit

Nice read Liz. Could have been a bit more excited about the win though

I didn't write it though - Liz did!

There is plenty to be pleased with, but not to get too overexcited about.

            Great report (as usual) Liz.

Interesting how you highlight our "evenness of contribution" - this is when we are at our Premiership best.

However, it's true Goodes was a standout and I particularly love the way he can keep his hands free when tackled and consequently pass off.

We also had the luck of competing against an undermanned Melbourne side, which you acknowledged in your excellent wrap up of the game.

.... and if they do attack the ball, the tackle will be high, so in theory you should always either have free arms or get a free kick.

Actually, Liz, I would say that this is the best match report I've ever read on RWO. No point highlighting any particular part, because it was all keenly observed and well-written.

Just outstanding, and-- as Goodesie was a class above his opponents-- a class above the match reports that one reads in the mainstream media. (Or doesn't read-- why do the SMH insist on presuming that on Monday, readers have no interest in reading a match report on Saturday's match, and instead only want to read an article on any developments subsequent to the win?)

A 10/10 report for a 8/10 win. Good on you.
