    One for the ages

Copy this link to your browser, then skip the first 15 minutes to get to the game:

    mms://wmt.streaming.telstra.com/wh_afl0/afl/premiership/2003/PF/2-600.wmv

2003 preliminary final. Sydney v Brisbane. 72,000 at Telstra. Young versions of RoK, Schneider, Kennelly etc. Doyle on the bench.

The dawn of the Roos era.

Dont bother with the last quarter.

From my memories of being at the game, watch the 2nd half of the 3rd Quarter... we got it back to 3 points or so behind, my first ever finals match i got to go to... i remember the crowd going nuts.

Although nothing compared to last year, was fantastic atmosphere at the Olympic Stadium.

Not to mention that goal that just trickled through that someone kicked from around the centre of the field, that was painful to watch!

That game was my first visit to Telstra Stadium after going to a handful of SCG games that year. When we blitzed the Saints in the PF last year, that last quarter against the Lions was one of the first things that came to mind (OK, after the noise at the Aussie Rules Club had died down )

Rather than the qualifying final against Port?

I can remember this game like it was yesterday. We had the momentum going into the last quarter, Kennelly had a kicked a huge goal at the end of the third and I was so sure we were going into the grand final

Goodes was stuffed by the last quarter after playing in the ruck almost exclusively, which is partly why we lost.

Who needs slavery when you've got a missus.

She's a good girl, not overly into footy so she was happy to sacrifice watching the last quarter if we needed to queue up, must be hereditary 'cos the mother-in-law had also offered to come and sit outside on the night (just in case)

.... and yes, I consider myself extremely fortunate

                            Here we go again....

Well, the valuable lesson learned from this PF was to never take a prospective partner to the footy.
                            EVER.
And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

I was in Mt Gambier (SA) and my wife watched the game with me, but decided to go have a shower at 3 qtr time. So I have blamed her ever since.
