How useful is levitation to the modern player?

    I stole this from someone:

Do you think telekinesis should remain part of training? It's cool and everything but I don't see a useful application in footy.

Maybe a solution to our ongoing ruck woes...?

Levitation is an essential part of the skill set of the modern footballer. By all means, they should practice the skill as often as possible. It helped us win a premiership - Leo Barry's mark is a good example of skilful levitation by a master of the art.

Telekinesis is more difficult IMO. Controlling the flight of a football over distance is difficult because the recipient is not a willing recipient (a football, being inanimate is classed as a neutral recipient here). In addition, the magic arts are subject to the inverse square law like all other long-distance forces in physics. Fortunately, the same physical laws that make it difficult for a forward to steer the ball through the goals also makes it difficult for a defender to steer the ball away from the goals. Unless the footballer is naturally gifted in telekinesis, no special training is required in this art.

This explanation should help to explain why "Magic" MOL has been inaccurate in front of goal lately. He is naturally skilled in the telekinetic arts, but must maintain the skill through regular training, fasting and meditation. He has not been doing his telekinetic training with the same rigour as he used to, so his skill in front of goal has diminished.

Pity the picture didn't include Ablett and Vogels.

It's a start. Goal post bending is also an under-rated skill. Leigh Matthews was good at it.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I think levitation is only useful if you are a shifty Swarmi.
