Peter Motley - Headliners on Fox

For those who havent or have heard of Peter Motley you should have a look at the headliners show on Fox which screens at 9pm on Wednesdays.

Part 1 was last night (should screen again this week) and gave you an insight into the person, his football ability and tragic accident. Part 2 deals with the aftermath of the accident that robbed football of potentially one of its all time greats. All time great may be a big call but if you ever saw some of his brief career you would understand.

Overall the show is a real eye opener and makes you appreciate life a little bit more.

As an avid Sturt fan I was lucky enough to see the best of Mots in the early 80's. With Mots at half forward and the Jumbo Prince playing out of the goalsquare they were a formidable combination that kept Sturt in the mix in the early 80's. Motley's departure to those other Blues signalled Sturt's demise for the next decade, it's not stretching it too far to suggest he was pretty much holding the side together prior to leaving.
The car accident curtailed what would have been a stellar career at the Blues.

Floppin even though Im a devout Victorian I really enjoyed the part about Motley being played on "Victorian Superstar Gary Ablett" in a State of Origin until the Vic's were forced to move Gazza as Mots was tearing him a new a***hole

How many premierships was it during that period?

I remember how shocked everyone in Adelaide was at the time Motley was involved in the accident. He really was an extraordinary young talent. Thankfully, it didnt claim his life.

I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.

I was living in Melbourne when Mots had the accident it was such a shock- tragic for such a young bloke who had the world at his feet. I wish I had of seen it the program - will it be on next week too? (when I have access to foxtel)
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
