It was an easy win. panned out exactly how the team would have prepared for it. Brisbane were great with their pressure, but 24 tackles in the first quarter???? no one can sustain that pressure for the full duration. Exactly the result I predicted after quarter time. And I'm quite happy with the result to be honest.

The win was there to be taken, and it was taken with no individual performances and no razzamatazz. It was a boring game to watch though if u were looking for free flowing football.

not surprising really. I honestly think the selection committee have done a good thing here. I would have brought him back 2 weeks ago, but I think they will have him peaking come finals.

I think ND was "poorish" but the difference between seconds and AFL are gargantuan. It will take him 2 more weeks to be playing schmicko footy. Problem is, do we have 2 more weeks?

Can you win by 50 & not be impressive? I think so. That performance would not have been good enough for a team in the 8. Is something wrong with Barry Hall...he just seems to lack the power & assurance & hands of old? We just can't get it clean to forwards like we used to.
Grundy has to go...& I still reckon there is only one player between Bevan & Dempster on any given occasion. Fosdike terrific, Goodes great early, O'Keefe terrific, Buchanan & Schneider VG...Doyle very encouraging. We will have to lift from that to beat Carlton IMO. Must admit Richards quiet solid & Matthews tolerable.

That was honest to god the most boring game I have ever seen live. I can't believe we actually won by 50 something points - it felt like we kicked about 4 goals for the entire game. I can't think of one thing to cheer about, although I reckon Goodesy might be getting closer to that second Brownlow which is mildly exciting.

That was the worst 57 point win ever

Goodes was magnificent yet again. I also thought Teddy had very good game.

We got the job done but we will need a massive improvement if we are to mount a serious challenge.

I agree - maybe a St Kilda game in about 2001 at the SCG and a game or two against Freo rate with tonight on the "insomnia cure" scale for games I've been at (thenkfully wasn't at the draw in 02).

I think about the only think I could get excited about was Doyle taking the mark and kicking the goal.

Just boring boring game of football - maybe we should rename our team the Sydney Stoppages - more apt than the beautiful Swan!

Lions repeated their game plan from the same venue last season. Just keep hold of the ball so that we won't have it and can't score. They had no intention of kicking any goals after the first quarter. Unfortunately, we weren't really any good on the night and I still am puzzled at how we won by 50+ points. The forward line is still dysfunctional and Hall must snap out of his slump if we are to go anywhere in the finals.

Its probably the most unsatisfying big win I've experienced.

On a bright note, Richards continues to impress although his propensity to take an eternity to kick the ball after his mark it is a concern.

At least they went to the game. I felt like leaving early too, so boring was the football being played. Good to win but nothing to get excited about.

I'm glad it is not just me rather underwhelmed by the match tonight. If we had any sort of conviction we'd have beaten this Brisbane team by 100 points, I swear. We were atrocious for basically ALL of the game, except maybe a small portion of the 2nd quarter & some of the last quarter.

When you are thinking of moving interstate and are scared of having to ween yourself off the footy, games like this make your decision to get out of town a great deal easier. Because franky premiership or no premiership, the footy I have watched this season has been near on atrocious. No thrillers, and probably 4-5 games that could be described as half decent to be honest

And I wonder why I'm starting to get more excited about Sydney FC matches more than Swans games these days.
