No resting of players and Crouch's season looks over

Interesting comments in a Sydney Morning Herald Article this morning from Roos.

    Source

SYDNEY coach Paul Roos is adamant he will not rest any of his key players next weekend in preparation for the finals when the Swans meet lowly Carlton at the SCG.
    And as for Crouchie...

Meanwhile, Roos confirmed that the diagnosis does not look good for Jared Crouch who again struggled with injury, playing for Sydney reserves on Saturday. When asked if Crouch's season is looking like it might be over, Roos replied: "I think so, but I'm going to have to follow it up with the doctors. But the signs aren't looking great at the moment."

Despite the official club line re: Crouch, Fox Footy were running "Foot, indefinite" last week. I don't know where they sourced that information?

He is having trouble getting a boot to fit his indefinite foot.

          Good one!

I feel bad for Crouchie, I like the way he goes about his footy.

Omitting players won't be regarded as resting players if they are injured.

Are we really missing Crouch at the moment?

                I'd say no.

At best he's in the 12th to 22nd ranked players.
                Handy, but replacable.

I think we are missing crouch, that hunger to win games is still only at 85% in the team...he would lift that no doubt

He has broken down in his last two reserves games. I doubt Crouch even figures in the 2006 plans anymore.

He has finished in the top 10 in the B&F for the past five years or so. He was also adjudged (deservedly IMO) as the best Swans player across the finals series last year. He was second only to Davis in the Geelong game and the only one who looked able to moderate the impact of Judd in the GF.

I'm not claiming he's as critical to success as Hall or Goodes but I think the team is missing him more than we realise. That said, it's looking pretty clear that he's not going to be able to make any meaningful contribution for the rest of this year.

100% fit Crouch is clearly in our best 18. His loss could damage us against players like Milne, Sampi, Didak and Davey.

he usually plays on the fastest opposition gun midfielder or goal sneak and does damn good job. Schneider is more suited to playing up forward in a more attacking role.
