    Losers Qual 3 & 4 drop out
    Winner Prelim 1 goes to Semi 2
    Winner Prelim 2 goes to Semi 1
    Then on to GF

      Semi finals are the second week of the finals and preliminary are the week before the GF
      confusing terminology if you ask me!!!

        It's a carry over from when there was only 1 prelim final and 2 semis in the final 4 and final 5 days.

          that's right, however the terminology is admirably unique isn't it?

          the whole "its our game and we'll call things as we see it" attitude is part of the attraction of footy for me.

          "soccered off the ground", "luck's a fortune" and semi-finals with 6 teams still in play all sound great to my ears and i love explaining them to foreigners and non-footy types. long live our foibles!

                The joy of having children. When they get sick, you can guarrantee that you'll get the same thing a week later and 10 times worse.

                My two year old presented me with conjunctivitis on fathers day. That's on top of the mega chesty cold I got from my 5 yr old during last week. My head feels like its been 5 rounds with Barry Hall.
