Apologies that it doesn't meet your obviously high standard of posting on this board.
Commenting is not bizzare, the comments are. I still don't see what the concern is. Honestly, what is the issue with the ground being used on Saturday night for league?

I'm with ROK on this one. They seem to be able to play 2 and even 3 games a weekend at Telstra Dome and the MCG most weeks of the season without a problem, so what's the big deal?

And if you're looking for changing codes, there was nothing wrong with using the MCG for the Australia v Greece on a Thurs night and then playing AFL that weekend, or using Telstra Dome for an A-League game tonight before AFL there tomorrow, or Telstra Stadium for the rugby last year the night before we played the Lions...

These grounds are top rate playing fields with people employed solely to look after the playing surface - they are meant to be able to stand up to a lot of traffic.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

It isn't a big deal, but this happens next to never, the SCG hasn't hosted multiple games very often on any given weekend for 20 years, so it is interesting that they are hosting two events in less than 24 hours in the last round for both codes.

It will also be interesting to see how they handle it, because they haven't had this type of turnaround timeframe for a long long time.

Even pre 1987 how many NRL teams were even playing at the SCG regulary? Didn't Easts use the Showground?

Yes it will be cool and everything will be fine, but seeing it so rarely happens I don't get the issue with discussing it.

The ground is a better size for league anyway, so whatever...

This happens often. You all realise that the Waratahs played a match at the SCG the night before a swans game earlier in the year?

Probably more damage done in the stands, than to the ground.

If the grass is the issue then OK, I understand. I don't agree but at least now I know what the issue is. SUrely the Trust moved the RL there to save the stadium next door a little. I assume that it will host a few league finals and the soccer over the next month. I'd expect that is why the league at Moore Pk is at the SCG this w/e.

With the weather being what it is this weekend (like a summer's day today), what harm could it possibly do?

The ground looks funny with the rugby posts on the website.
