    Finals scenarios after today

Feeling crook as a dog on father's day and having to miss the final home match, I've been wondering about the final scenarios if the swans win or lose today.

    If Swans win:

Rd 1 - Weagles at perth
Rd 2 - Week off or home game against winner of teams 6 (pies) & 7 (demons).
Rd 3 - prelim at home against either crows, freo or saints or final away against either freo/crows.

If Freo beat crows in week 1, Sydney would have two finals in perth if they lose in week 1.

    If swans lose today.

    Rd 1 - Home final against demons. ( 6 v 7)
Rd 2 - Away final against loser of Weagles or saints
Rd 3 - Away final against winner of weagles or saints.

I think that's right considering how well or not well my brain is working today.

It is very windy in Sydney town today. Breeze blowing from north and I'm guessing will be blowing left to right of the tele screen.

Hopefully it will die down by 1:10 pm. Track should be hard and fast.

Anyone know somebody at the game to see if any of the emergencies aren't playing.

They just said on the weather a few minutes ago that there's a chance of rain as well today in the city - I'm hoping it holds off.

The scenarios seem right to me.

It is starting to look as if we might get rain too. The azure blue sky of just an hour ago has morphed into ominous grey clouds with a silvery black edge to them.

Yep, very good chance of rain now I'd say - the change has been Melbournesque!

I'm on the central coast and it is very black in the north west. However, this might not get down to Sydney.

Damn I hate missing home games! I missed the last two carlton games and the swans won both. Heres hoping!

Although you have to be cautious of Carlton from last week, remember rocca kicked 8 goals as well. Defence wasn't a priority it seems.

Just spoke to a mate at the ground who says it's currently spitting a bit (could be the Blues supporters I guess?) but he thinks it may pass over. Let's hope so!

I would expect us to be drawn for the Saturday night game at Subiaco.

Not a bad result as the Weagles would have only flown back to Perth this morning or late last night.

We can head over on Wednesday or Thursday.

If we use last year as an example and apply it to this year:

                1st elimination final (sunday) - Bulldogs v. Collingwood(5th)

2nd Elimination final (saturday arvo) - Saints v Demons

1st qualifying final (saturday night) - Weagles v Swans

2nd qualifying final (friday night) - Crows v. Freo

You'd think saints and pies would go through to week 2. However I'd love to see them both lose.

Listening to 3AW over the net, they think Friday night and sat arvo games will be in Melbourne, Adelaide on Sat night and Perth on Sunday.

I wouldn't think they would play both elimination finals first up.

Sydney finished 4th in 2003 and the first game against Port was Sunday afternoon.

Couldn't imagine Ch 10 putting the Swans up against 2 rugby league finals on Saturday night.

I don't think Sydney ratings would be much of a consideration.

Definitely a Sunday. Remember flying down on Saturday morning, spending most of Saturday drinking and watched the Pies Brisbane game in a pub on Sat night before the game on Sunday afternoon.

If we beat the Eagles, we will play any of Crows/Freo/Saints/Dees in Sydney in week 3.

If we lose we play either Pies or Dogs in Sydney(week 2), followed by the winner of the Crows/Freo game(week 3).
