    A Nice Problem

I was thinking of Blight's Barometer: the match deciders are the bottom six.
I found it very hard to work out who would be our bottom six on yesterday's performance. A decent player like Dempster might be included, as might Fosdike - but then there was that brilliant goal to balance his clanger, and his general form is very good. Doyle had a relatively quiet game, but no-one in their right mind would drop him. Early in the season Ted Richards would have gone on a bottom six list automatically, but he has turned into a useful defender, and despite not being a noted kick even had a goal.
Others seem to have a similar problem - I checked the best players according to our main papers (I know, I know) and between The Age, The Australian and Herald Sun, half the team were nominated! Goodes and Kirk were the only ones on each list.
This is a very good problem to have. The only drawback I can think of is that I suspect the Eagles could probably say the same thing.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I am surprised you didn't nominate Kirk

I thought McVeigh played well above his usual game yesterday.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Really? I noticed The Age thought the same, they gave him second place in their voting system thingo.

              I hardly noticed him.

Watch the replay, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I agre the BRB, I hardly noticed him yesterday.

However, the point of the thread was about the bottom 6 players in the team. While he has improved and had a great year, I found it hard to put anyone else in the bottom 6. Maybe Ablett is on the fringe of bottom 6 with McV, dunno, it is a tough decision, but Ablett did a lot of work in the finals last year esp. the Geelong game. He has the finals experience.

The absence of one particular name from any posts in this thread so far is interesting. Shows just how far he's come over the past 15 months...

                    I speak of LRT.

Probably would have made the list, if we were doing this six months ago ... he's not too shabby for a bloke who grew up playing rugby union, eh??

Got a fair rest on the bench in the 4th qtr with BH, MOL and SD (although he did come back on).

LRT has had a very solid year with quite a few victories over highly rated opponents. Look for the commentators to get onboard next year and talk him up. He's currently more like a top six nomination than bottom six.
