Jared has finally decided to open up about his multiple injuries. Quite an interesting article...

Whilst I admire his stance against the media, he's living in a dream world....

I thought it was a very good article. Given the examlpe that he gave about the jaw "injury" I can now understand his stance on his injuries.

good on him to stand on principle. i was also glad to see that the afl's stance on drugs has stayed.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

Crouchie is a dead set legend, and I still remember so many tackles he landed which saved goals in the finals last year..

God bless you Crouchy ... you don't live in that world on your own.
The media can certainly pull their heads in.
We're praying for a speedy recovery.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I can understand him not wanting to let on about a shoulder injury for fear of being targeted, but an ankle, or a hamstring??? How can opposition players target injuries like that??? The only way I could see it would be to try and run you off your feet, which, the last time I checked is a pretty legitimate tactic, and one that you have to be willing to live with if you take the field not fully fit.

Having said that, you have to give it to the guy for getting on the field for as long as he did with all those injurie.

Crouch had played with the damaged ankle all season, but it was the broken collarbone from round nine, which he endured for three matches, that eventually got the better of him.
                      Tough? Sure. Selfish? Definatley

True. But it's a nice dream anyway.

Ankles can be pretty well targeted - stepped on in packs, kicked here and there - it's a nasty business! Some of even the kids I've worked with have asked to have both ankles taped just to give both an equal chance of being targeted when one is injured. Hamstrings on the other hand...

And playing with stress fractures in your back?! Tht's crazy! And I'm not sure if it's a good or bad crazy!

At least we know now why his injuries weren't revealed - they wouldn't have all fitted on the page!

He'll be sorely missed in the finals, moreso than Ball or Willo I think, especially vs the Famers, Milnes etc.

There is no doubting his courage but wouldn't he have been better getting the ankle fixed in the pre-season when it flared up??

And playing with a broken collar bone?? That's just stupid and selfish.

As for not having any recourse against incorrect media reports, isn't that what the Swans' media department is for? How hard is it to issue a statement: "Contrary to some media reports Jared Crouch does not have a broken jaw".

Anyhow apart from all that, well done Crouchy, you will be missed in the next few weeks.
