I heard an interview that Richard Stubbs did with the writer of the book about the bloodbath GF. Evidently part of the "bloods" spirit was for each of the team to get kitted up at home, put their street clothes over the top and then go down to the pub for a beer before the game.
I'm guessing that this is part of the bloods ethos that the present day guys aren't adhering to. If not, then are they really bloods?
