On the 5th Quarter, they thought that passage of play was so good that they replayed it in full, all the way from the boundary throw-in. It started with a couple of Eagle possessions, an Eagle entry inside F50, then we got the ball and we all know the rest.

With plays like that, no wonder many of the neutral fans on Big Footy are talking about last night's final as the best game of the season. One even likened the Eagles-Swans games of recent times as being akin to the Hawthorn-Essendon rivalry in the 1980's. Top stuff.

"It's winning Rugby" was my retort.

And interestingly enough the Swans were running in numbers and could have shared it between others.

I love some of the excuses I've read on the Eagles board this morning:

                - We threw it so that we don't have to play Freo at Subiaco for the PF.
                - Sydney flood/scrag/play rugby. I'd rather not win a premiership playing like that.
                - The final siren sounded really short, perhaps the timekeeper accidentally hit it 20 seconds early.

Just arrived back home in Sydney from Perth after witnessing one of the if not the clubs greatest victory.

An unbelievably hostile environment that made the win all that more impressive.

We so need that week off, it was that steamy at Subi and I was only sitting in the crowd! The Irish Club went off after the game and it was great to meet many Swannies fans both WA locals and those that made the trek across from Sydney.

                  YOU LITTLE RIPPER SWANNIES!
                  Swannies for life!

                      Just watched it again.

Wirrpanda bombs long to the top of our goalsquare. Jolly drifts back and gets a fist to it. Ablett is first to it, gets past Chick handballs to Buchanan. Monty swerves around the tackle of Lynch and gives it to Kennelly. Tadhg chips over the top to Davis, who handballs to Goodes. Goodes's handball to Fosdike falls short but luckily it bounces straight into his arms. Handball to Malceski, whose kick wasn't the best but actually worked to our advantage as it fell at an unorthodox angle which Banfield punches in desperation. The ball rolls towards the goals and luckily sits up for Micky O to put through and say hello to the cheer squad.

No West Toaster touched it besides Banfield.

SEMI POLL: Now ... which game was better. Yesterday's or the grand final.

While I loved the grand final win ... yesterday's (for me) was actually a bit sweeter!
                        It reaffirmed the grand final.

The toe poke resulted in Jolly picking it up and giving it to McV (I think) who snapped and missed.

I knew jolly gave it to someone. I thought at the time that it was a bad move and they should've let Goodes get the ball. But I'll take option 2 now.

Why wasn't Cox penalised for incorrect disposal of the ball?

In a ruck(throw in) contest on the wing, he clearly takes the ball out of the air and takes a swipe with at the ball with his foot and is tackled at the same time. Thus missing the ball. That used to be a free kick.

Why are you allowed to chop Barry Hall's arms in a marking contest?

Why are Eagles players allowed to play on over the boundary line, change their mind and go back to take their kick and it's not called out of bounds?

Why are you allowed to tackle Richards when he isn't holding the ball?

                                Mysterious questions.
