    Eagles Supporters.

I know we have said a lot on here bout them....they were their usual feral selves tonight....
Anyway what I wanted to do was just say thanks to the Weagles supporter who outside the ground actually said well done and it was a great game etc etc. Was a really nice bloke......so congrats...
All you other moronic Eagles supporters that were mouthing off after could learn a lot from that bloke.

I think your post applies to supporters from all teams at all times - it's all about being gracious no matter what, and showing respect for opposition fans, whether you win or lose.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I only got support from one person after the game who wasn't a Swans fan, he told me he goes for Hawthorn but got dragged along by his girlfriend, who was telling him not to talk to me.

To be fair as well the Big Footy Eagles supporters have been very gracious and giving credit wheres its due.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

We got back late last night. After the game, or all day Sunday, we never met one solitary Weagles fan that had the courtesy to say 'well done'. Nothing but sniping, cheap shots, moaning or excuses.

If there's a group of more ungracious sporting fans anywhere, I've yet to meet them. They are without doubt, the most miserable, whining gits I've ever had the misfortune to come accross...the upside was wallking out of the groung was one of the most satisfying things I've ever done!
                  Regards,

                  Boro Boy

Unfortunately Swans fans can be equally as bad. I watched two Brsibane fans (bloke in his 20's and his dad in his 60's) take a disgraceful amount of abuse at the TS semi a few years back. One group of idiots were throwing things at them (beer etc). When i asked them to ease up they could not understand why i cared or was having a go at them.

Spoke to the Brissie fans after game and congratulated them and wished them luck next week. They were genuinely upset by the whole experience and regretted coming down for the game !

I was at the final at Telstra Stadium in 2004 and copped no end of abuse from a whole heap of Sydney Supporters after the game...it works both ways champ. Don't be so naive as to think your supporters are all as well behaved as perhaps yourself (I'm assuming). There are feral supporters in every bunch - don't kid yourself.

That being said, well done on Staurday night. It could've gone either way and another great dual between our clubs. Hopefully see you in the GF!

Two weeks ago, in the entrance to central station after the game, there were these two blokes standing around in Carlton jumpers (obviously tourists) looking pretty lost and downtrodden.
I went up to them, shook their hands and thanked them for the game and wished them better luck for next year.
They said I was the first person that was actually nice to them and that hundreds of people had walked past and "dug it in". They were actually lost and looking for help!!
I tend to be nice to the out of town people who visit the SCG and Telstra Stadium.
I've NEVER had anyone be rude to me after a game when I've managed to travel interstate.
Sure, there's been some good-natured banter, but no one being feral.
                        Maybe I'm just lucky??
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
