I hope we can win the weekend after next.
One big difference is that we won't be playing Brisbane the best football team in the last 50 years.
If we play as well against Freo or Melbourne as we did that night against Brisbane then we should all feel very well about our chances.

Also remember too we played without a recognised ruckmen for the last part of 2003 and by the last Qtr in the PF Goodsey was spent. Game over.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC
I'm nervous also, but we are so much different to the 2003 side. The Swans being in a home prelim had a lot to do with Port's finals intensity issues (as well as fantastic effort by us of course!).
We are the Premiers, in a home Preliminary Final, we should be confident IMO.....I think....
Nerves are natural because theres nothing guaranteed in football. Just ask the Saints last year. They were so cocky and confident that they would beat us and looked what happened.

Why is everybody looking into the past instead of savouring the future. In 2003 were different conditions and even the players themselves couldn't believe how far had they got. Why is everybody believing that have a week off is bad. Last year WC advanced to PF after first week of the finals and still won against Adelaide. You have to take one game at the tiome and must not underestimate your opposition. I don't care who ar ewe playing. We must win. It's the golden opportunity to go back-to-back.

Well said big chap. I think we can beat Freo or Dees but it doesn't mean we will. My nerves won't settle until (well) after the final siren at the PF.
I'm not comfortable with the talk that we are going to be in the big one, we've still got a difficult game ahead of us. Let's hope next week's game is a draw and that both teams are run off their legs, which will hopefully make our job that bit easier the following week.
Just had a look at the Prelims since the Final 8 started in 1994. Since then 18 of the 24 teams that got the weeks rest won their way through to the Grand Final. Only 4 Minor Premiers won the Grand Final in that time. Only one team that ran 4th has won the Grand Final.
Not sure whether this calms the nerves at all.
