They did a similar thing in Adelaide earlier this year. THe point is to connect up Swans supporters in the locale.

Tony Morwood is the best thing to happen to the Swans, he has re-vitalised the Melbourne Membership and is now looking to spread his wings.

Rebecca and Lucinda in the Melbourne office are great value as well, they go out of their way to assist the members.

Of course they didn't take into account the fierce parochialism of Tasmanians which even overrides the love of the Swans.

There's no way I'm going to Hobart. I hate Hobart. I'll probably join but it is easier for me to get to Melb than to Hobart. The old Volvo is starting to suffer badly...learner driver no.2 just gave it a bit of a dingle.

Good stuff (and it should be in the capital Satchmo not in the hick north, even though Northerners do find it very hard to leave their towns, i'll agree with that!)

Shane Fell used to run a lot of Tassie Swans gatherings when he was the licencee of the Carlyle Hotel in Glenorchy.

I can remember going to see Plugger and a couple of other swans at the Globe Hotel in Davey St.
