Well, where there is smoke there is fire, but there has not been much smoke on the horizon. If the club is attracting criticism then it is right for Roos and others that represent it to defend the club. However, there has not been much heat on this issue lately and if there have been questions raised along official channels then surely that is the best place to deal with it. The primary agenda is letting Everitt know what his place will be should he come to the Swans - exactly as the Aker interview by the players was (if it happened) - the secondary point is that I think it agains shows a side of Roos that others refuse to acknowledge. For all his "we don't care whay the media or anyont think of us" talk he loves to have the last word and seems pretty unwilling to forget (and probably even to forgive) those who criticise or question him.

So if Spida is off the Trade Menu then who has jumped on.

We usually go after an established player. Anyone care to name a few. No one at this time is obvious to me.

I doubt Sydney will be trading this year unless a Swans player wants to be traded. To be perfectly clear I don't see a need either.

I would be surprised if we went after anyone that is established (Given that Doyke remains uninjured), My tip is no trades and we pick up three smokeys that develop into the like of ROK and Goodes. (Well that's what I hope anyway.)

              Who cares?

Last year, Spida made it abundantly clear that he wanted to play for Sydney.

We all know that. So, what Roos is saying is no surprise. We're just getting the detail.

              Chill out
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

How on earth were they supposed to trade if the hawks didnt know he wanted to leave???

Was he supposed to just show up in red and white and hope no-one noticed??

That was last year, in the TRADE period.

                Get your hand off it.

After the nick davis affair, everyone should take with a grain of salt what Roos says via the media.

I think Sydney are getting cold feet on Everitt, or trying to strike a better deal.

Just a bit of gamesmanship with someones career as the "ball".

people should take everything said in and to the media with a grain of salt.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

I think Roos handles the media very well and likewise protects the interests of the club. But the boring anti-Roos faction are determined to make an issue of everything he says. I don't understand what they expect to achieve by what you are doing. The majority of supporters are 100% behind the coach at this exciting time of the year.

Include me in the majority supporters group who are 100% behind Paul Roos who is the most successful coach we have had in over 70 years.

I think some people are making more out of this than what was actually intended. In the Sunday Age, there were two write ups on Roos by Samantha Lane, in reality reading them it appears that they were both taken from the same interview in which Sam Lane asked Roos about Spida Everitt. If this had come out in a press statement or similar I could understand the outrage, but in the context of an interview with a reporter, Roos has answered the questions asked of him and this has been made into a separate article to fill space in the Sport lift out of the Sunday Age.

Would have loved to see him win one with Shane Fell at Full Forward.
