lets not get ahead of ourselves here. this is not directed at you personally swans05, but in RWO generally. we're acting as if were already in the GF. sure it would be great to get there, but if we lose to freo we will not only be the laughing stock of the afl but the trolls on RWO will give us a beating. lets just focus on freo for now and if we get through then we start talking about the GF.

I agree. History accounts for nothing. One game at the time, please!

There weren't any finals at the MCG in 1945 due to WW2, they were played at Princes Park. IIRC it was 68 or 69 years since we had won a final at the MCG, so that makes it 1936 or 1937.

History doesn't mean a thing. We went into the prelim last year having not won an MCG final for a hundred years or so.

I'm more nervous than last year at the same time because we are expected to win so the pressure will be on us. Freo can go into without any pressure or expectation.

Having said that my head says our finals experience, home ground and the week off to freshen up will mean we should win. Then my Swans pessimism takes over and I get worried all over again. I just hope we bring our A game on Friday night because if we do we should be right or then again maybe not. Damm. Friday night can't come quickly enough.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

yes, you're correct. The last time teh Swans won at MCG was PF in 1936. In 1945 is the last time they won a final game in Melbourne.
