Re: how many grand final tickets are we given as a club?
Each of the 16 clubs are given 1,500 at the start of the finals series, which are generally used for sponsors, a GF event or sold to travel agents to make cash for the club .Originally posted by stotty

The two clubs that make it are then given another 1,000 to use which will basically cover players family, the rest of the squad not playing and more tickets to the club sponsors.
Finally around 26,000 tickets are then distributed to each club with both getting a guaranteed 4,000 (which go to Life, Bloods and Premiership Members) and the rest split as per the membership numbers (ie if we had 40% compared to Adelaides 60% of the combined membership then we would get 7,200 to distribute).
Hope that helps.

I might have been slightly off in my calc's according to the AFL website:
1. Competing Club Members 16000 - 26000
2. AFL Clubs (16 x 1000) 16000
3. MCC Reserve 16000 - 26000
4. AFL Members 10000 - 20000
5. AFL/Medallion Club Members 4500 - 5000
6. AFL Entitlements 4000 - 7000
7. AFL Contractual Obligations 4000 - 7000
8. Competing Clubs 1500 - 2500
Total 95,000
That should be 1,000 to each club at the start of the finals series and then probably 1,250 extra for the two competing clubs on the day.
The 26,000 will be correct due to the greater seating capacity now of the G. This was around 18,000 to 20,000 last year.

It would have been scarey if I had said "this is the amount of tickets we will receive when we win this week".Originally posted by giant
Geez this sort of talk scares me a week out from the prelim final....
No harm in letting people know what the split is, just the same as being asked to pre purchase your GF ticket this week before we actually play.

What do people think will happen if we talk about being in the grand final before we actually get there? Do you think the players get on here, read about it and think the job's already done, time for some KFC? It's just TALK. If it raises some poor bugger's hopes, then we lose, he's the foolish one for believing some internet crap anyway. Get over this superstitious crap.Originally posted by nomae
