How will the week off affect us?

I am a little concerned that we don't show up and play like we did against Collingwood earlier in the year after the mid season break.

I just hope that the weeks break will not stop the momentum that we had leading up to beating the Eagles.

I guess one good aspect is that we were carrying a few injured players at the end of our last game and they've had time to recuperate.

Yeah that Collingwood game was pretty sucky. It's usually on my BIRTHDAY which in this case this year, was a bit of a bummer.

I don't think the week off will affect us because:

    1) I clearly remember Goodesy as well as a few of the other guys in tears when we lost to the Lions a few years ago (due to stoopid Aker's final qtr) and they will definitely come mentally prepared with those memories in hand. I'm sure Cressa will remember it too, as it was cruelly his last game.

    2) We won't be affected by it as much as Freo will be affected by the "oh we've made it this far and we feel satisfied now" thing..

I hope you're right BBB, I just recall that St Kilda at this stage last year were in the same position as we are now - And we all know what we did to them in the last quarter!!!

p.s. The Saints were also Premiership favourites as we are now.

I think the week off is great, we really needed it and I reckon they will be jumping out of their skins to play on Friday.

Against Collingwood we were simply playing average football, I am not convinced the week off was the reason either, and 2003, well, we were against perhaps the greatest side in the modern era, I doubt that the week off had anything to do with that either.

but the sainters didn't take care of key injuries I'm not so worried as such. Remember 1996 against Essendon, Remember 2005 against the Cats at the SCG when Nicky kicked a goal? and who can forget Leo barry's mark. IF history is to continue I could see us beating the dockers by a goal or beating them like we did to the sainters in other words the swans are excellent at getting themselves out of tight situations.

anyway Magic Mic and Hallsy's injuries would have stopped them playing last week
