in all serious, as I said pre geelong match, pre st kilda and pre grand final..."its been a great year, a toast to the swans win or loose"

as much as it kills, look how far we have come this year...its just great to make the finals...

ok, enuf with the crap, I'm gonna bawl my eyes out....the only savour would be a waking up to a hot man the next morning..ie ryan okeefe
you know what they say, dirty pants- clean botty

Dunno. It'll be a harder loss to take than 2003. At least back then I had Collingwood getting smashed in the GF to ease the pain.

      Ah. Sweet sweet memories.

as devistated as I would be losing to Freo, Freo were one other team I was going for had the swans not made it this far so I would still watch the GF but I would be looking more towards the start of NBL season (go the razorbacks) and getting back to seeing Sydney FC's winning style
2005, year of the swan, Demetriou was wrong so we sing this song...

"Cheer, cheer the red and the white,
Honour the name by day and by night....."

I was only thinking this morning there is a distinct whiff of our win against Port in 2003 with Freo this week, travelling to a city where our record is not good, zero expection, coming off a brilliant second half of the year, etc. etc.
If they can capture some of that winning streak form theyll go along way.

For the Swans this game can be all over at half time. 2nd q. is crucial. If we bust ahead like we have in recent weeks during the 2nd q. I wouldn't back Freo to be able to come back.

Depends how it happens. If it's a close one with a dodgy umpiring decision I'll be furious for weeks. if we get comprehensively outplayed then I'll be very disappointed but get over it much more quickly.

There's a difference. In 2003 the Swans were stumbling at the end of the season, because of injuries. The only ruckman we had was Goodes, remember? The win against Port was more a result of Port underestimating us than us playing better than them. They were trying to come back in second half and they got close, but it wasn't enough. Freo is in better shape than we were in 2003, so it will be about which team is better. If our players take Freo seriously as they would WC than there's a big chance for them to win. It will be all in their heads.

                torn..

I don't know! I don't particularly like the dirty dockers but they're kind of like us last year - not so much pressure to win cos no-one really seems to openly back them.. (except their fans!).

I guess if we go out, I'd rather we go out now than get to the grand final, have to play west coast, and lose. That would actually break my heart. If we lost to Adelaide it would be a little easier... but not West Coast. I would actually want to kill one of their supporters I think...

Meh.. I'd back the dockers - I guess... anyone but West Coast!

I'll be the same - I am also sure that my family and friends will be furious at the umpires as well but for being the source of my ranting and raving and general @@@@iness

I'm totally torn! Of course I want us to win and make the GF but my bank balance is going to cop a beating of the grandest terms if we do - going to Melbourne, then having to fly to Brissie a couple of weeks later to train for the new job I've just landed cos I'll miss the Sydney session (what flipping moron puts training on on GRAND FINAL weekend?!) - it's going to hurt on top of an interstate relocation in 5 weeks!

So if we lose, I'm going to be disappointed for sure, but having been to the pinnacle of footy, I don't think I'll be so upset this year if we don't get there. I'll have a cry of course, cos I'm just a crybaby normally () but it won't shatter me.

If we make it to the GF and lose, THAT'S going to tick me right off! If we make it and win, BRING IT ON!!!

Hmmm, I could have sworn I posted on this thread earlier today.

If we lose I think I might take out my dissappointment on some RWO moderators.
