I read that and thought "rude @@@@@". But maybe he's also trying to egg people on to make a huge noise on Friday night. I swear I'm gonna lose my voice on the night.Occupational hazards:

Gotta love these articles that purport to debunk outdated stereotypes about Swans fans which at the same time merely perpetuate them.
I mean who actually cheers for points? Seriously?
Needing to "wear sunglasses to avoid the glare of brand new Swans scarves?" Give me a break.

Um, I think he's right there. On the train to the Lions PF in 2003 I saw half a dozen scarves that still had the price tags attached. And a father was instruction his young son "this is the game where they kick the ball a lot".Originally posted by Tuco

Too right. Everyone's got to start somewhere. I don't think I cared whether we won or lost for the first 3 years of my membership, it was just a fun day out. If you make noise, you're welcome any day.Originally posted by Go Swannies

And I'm all for new fans, too!! It was well documented that the Telstra games were introducing up to 20k new fans to the game in those early years.Originally posted by Go Swannies

But it doesn't matter whether it's true to an "extent" or not. It still @@@@es me off that we're still having entire articles devoted to the lack of passion and general Bandwagon nature of Swans supporters.
We'll show them a thing or two on Fri, though, methinks.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
