    PF: Swans Game Plan

What do you think the swans game plan will be Friday Night? I think we will shut them down. They like to run, we wont allow them to have that space. That way, it may be a 5+ goal win.

    GO SWANS!!!!!!!!

Standard advice, kick a higher score than Fremantle.

I think we have to lock up the stoppages and make sure they dont clear the ball easily.

We have to work back hard to ensure their forward line has less room for Pavlich to lead into, and Farmer to run around in.

We have to be creative and agressive off the half back line when we have the ball. More goals like the last one we kicked against WC are ideal.

Hitting forwards on the lead is crucial. If we bomb it in long in hope, Johnson will pick off the high ball regularly. But since Bazza is much stronger than all of their backs, he should be finding space regularly. Our foot skills on the night will be crucial. A repeat of the Geelong game skill level would be a disaster.

Don't let Johnson play as a spare man and make sure whoever is "manning him up" works their butt off. He has had a very good year but was made to look very ordinary last week by Miller, who is hardly top notch (yet) himself. They should be looking to play through Johnson's opponent as much as possible but kicking it out to that player on the lead. If they could engineer O'Keefe to pick him up that would be ideal but I don't see that happening.

Good point. Johnson is very much like Rivers in that he is a superb reader of the ball and can take pack marks as good as anyone.
Hopefully Ted can play a similar and even more effective role for us on Friday night.

            Maybe the Eski?

I see Johnson being the obvious "second man" for Hall, so whoever does take him has to not only stop him providing run from defence but has to make him pay if he drops off to lend a hand to Hall's direct opponent.

Would have a bit of a height disadvantage - I know he's not that much shorter than O'Keefe, but O'Keefe plays particularly tall for his size.

More importantly, I don't think we want Malceski playing as a forward - not because he can't kick two or three goals if he does, but because you want your running, long kicking players delivering the ball forward, not receiving it there. Lots of players can kick goals from 40m or so out. Not many can deliver the accurate, spearing passes that Mal is capable of.

How about Davis? Would definitely make Johnson accountable. Concern would Davo's ability to block run out of defence tho as pointed out.

The dockers fans seem to back Parker on Barry, with Mundy on O'Loughlin and Elvis on Davis..

                    Interesting...

OMG i'm so nervous/anxious/excited about tomorrow!!

The express trains are about 20 minutes.

I noticed Mike Sheehan corrected Robert Walls the other night when Wallsy said "20kms from the city", Mike: "No it's much longer than that, at least 1hr" haha...Maybe in peak hour traffic Mike!

Olympic Park is about 17kms west of the CBD.
