    Mcpharlin Left Behind

As most of you would already know Fremantle arrived in sydney today BUT without key defender Luke Mcpharlin, channel 10 has just reported that Luke is most likely to miss friday night's match.

As I said earlier in the week I would expect Polak to replace him but Grover may also be recalled to run with Goodes.

Is this confirmed as latest reports had him playing & travelling as part of squad of 25?

Unless some pretty gross porkies are being told (which ain't likely: it's hard to hide the fact that someone doesn't disembark from the plane with the team), it just ain't true:

"McPharlin will not be tested until Thursday's session in Sydney."

Incidentally, in the same story, Connolly confirms his status as a master tactician to be feared:

"(Sydney's) forwards kick most of their goals... "!

I heard on the news this morning that he travelled over in the squad of 25, but they'll wait till the last minute to see if he's well enough to play.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

It's a big risk taking an injured player into such an important game
"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

I think they're just playing mind-games with the announcement. They would be irresponsible if they let him play.

                        quoted from the article ...

There has been much talk about the highly-anticipated battle of 211cm Dockers giant Aaron Sandilands and 200cm Swans ruckman Darren Jolly, but Connolly warned his counterpart Paul Roos not to forget about Justin Longmuir's ability in the ruck.

"The danger there is to focus on one player. I thought Justin Longmuir was arguably our best player against Sydney last time (we met) and they'll share the load," he said.

"Darren Jolly's the one with the premiership medal so Aaron wants to get his hands on one of those. There will be no love lost either way and that goes for every match up on the ground. It will be on, there's no question, at every contest."

..... we've got Doyle lined up for Longmuir haven't we??

"The General" will take Sandilands. Doyley is the trump.
