Quarters and Huddo would be the two ten callers of choice. Way ahead of Lane.

Also I would prefer Blight over silvangi. Won't have to endure him saying 'super' after every mark or goal like last years dvd.

No time at all for Quartermain, despite the fact that he was lucky enough to be on the mike at the crucial moment in 2005. Concrete and humourless. Tim Lane is 10 times the commentator and reporter Quarters will ever be.

Robert Walls is probably the single most annoying person on football-related television; depending on what you think of Sam Newman, anyway. But 'special comments' are usually mercifully brief (except during the quarter breaks, which are devoted to chatting and drinking) and so don't carry anywhere near the potential irritation factor that regular commentary does.

I can't handle Malcom Blight, he gets one point that he wants to talk about for the game, and just harps on it constantly, over and over again saying the same thing, usually for our games its our stoppages.
Old fart that is so far removed from the modern game, it is embaressing to listen to him.

McAvaney's time has been and gone. I can't stand him.

Tim Lane has such a hatred for the Swans that it is very hard to watch games that he commentates without wanting to throw beers at the TV. The QF in Perth was a classic example. Constant references to the Swans dour "flooding" game and lavishing praise for Cousins and Judd. He seemed disappointed Sydney won the game.

Most of last year's PF was spent by Lane calling the Swans dour with numerous quips about how "un-Swans" like it was that we had kicked 5 goals in a quarter.

I won't miss him on GF day.

Oh my god if I have to hear Robert Walls make a comment which is just a repetition of someone else's call a few minutes earlier one more time this year...... *smacks forehead*
He is the most annoying commentator along with Eddie McGuire's hopeless calls during collingwood games. What a joke!

You can never get more divergent opinion amongst footy fans than on commentators.

Personally I like Walls, Lane and Quartermain. Blight is average, but I find Hudson a bit annoying and I cannot stand McAvaney.

listen to silvagni commentating- every time he talks he starts a sentence with 'well'. it is amazingly funny. if you're watching a boring game on channel ten just hang around to hear SOS say 'well they are robert' and 'well they're doing that very well arent they?'. he needs to widen his vocabulary.
and another thing about special commentators- dermie is actually good. he knows what the coaches are thinking and what they're doing. walls just says what every joe blog on the street could say. and blight- well lets just not go to his 'cant-accept-that-the-game-has-moved-on-from-footy-confetti-and-90metre-torpedo-kicks-for-goal' ways.

What about radio .... I was a bit disappointed with Rex Hunt last year. I waited all year to get to Melbourne so that I could listen to Rex call the game. I reckon MMM do a better job. I just love Kekka. He's hilarious.

Sorry Annie but MMM are not much better than Rex.

Great for swans fans but MMM are just so one sided you really don't know what's going on with the game. IMO they are even worse than K Rock's call with their bias towards Geelong.
