Fozzie, LRT and ROK must be pretty good chances after last year and current form. I love (hate) how people never seem to bet on the swans players.

I bet once before last years first final against wet toast, and never will again hahah.

Might put a lobster on Nicky D at $41. That would pay for the Grand Final week.

I'm starting to think that myself. How do I do it? I don't bet (clearly not a real Nicky D fan).

Edit: I should say, I have bet before. I won $7 on a horse called Sassy Lassy.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Monty was at $41 last year, which given the form he was in was the greatest value of all time (just pipped at the post on getting rich).

It seems like punters haven't learnt their lesson if he's only dipped to $34 this year. Fosdike is great value given his 2005 GF performance, but out of the $67-ers, I say get on Malceski. ROK isn't terrific value but is the Swan outside the 'big two' most likely to win it.

Don't forget that (if I recall rightly) Judd 2005, Buckley 2002 and Ablett 1989 are the only players in a losing side to win it over the last 20 years-- and all of their teams only lost very narrowly. So by backing a player to win the NSM you're also backing the Swans to win (or, very frustratingly, almost-win).

Doubt Davis is fit enough or gets enough game time to be a chance for the NS. I think it will be an Eagle midfielder or a Swan forward. Strangely enough blokes like Fosdike and other dark horses sometimes come to the fore on GF day but rarely get recognised by the media which is focussed on the stars.

Unfortunately that is true. Like last year - 90% of his "possessions" were ineffective- but that apparently doesn't count. He's just fast. Umpires have beer-goggles.

Any of these could have easily won it last year. great odds.

                        Couple of dark horses there.

But, Judd will win it. It always goes to a "big name".

I'm just getting this really really good vibe that Kirk may be in for a huge game on Saturday. This man is going to die out there for us to get the win.

I think we may see something truely special from Captain Kirk.

It doesn't always. However, I think Judd is probably going to win it. Hopefully he becomes the first person to win back-to-back Norm Smith medallists without winning a premiership medallion!!

I reckon MOL might be worth a punt.

"Lewis Roberts-Thompson" is a fair size.
