    After GF Venue

I'm flying in from Perth for the GF (thank God we played Friday night and I was able to get tickets before the Wet Toasters Won).
Is there a venue (pub) where the supporters meet after the game

    If we win ....

First ... you gotta get yourself some hot jam donuts, and get yourself a WEG poster.

Then all you do is follow the sea of red & white to the punt road oval. The after match starts there, then tries to get into the cricketers arms hotel (across the road) afterwards, realises it can't get in, then slowly snakes its way back into the city for any pub/bar/club/casino/dive that's open.

If we lose ... try the cricketers, then slowly snake your way back into the city for any pub/bar/club/casino/dive that's open.

    GET ON THE CONGA LINE!!!

Or join me at the GF Swans dinner. It could be the second best party in 73 years - last years' was a ripper.

If Davo gets out the bucket of KFC again, put your camera away.

It's a pity I won't be able to resume acquaintances with those Weagles fans from Lygon St last year.

          SHUT UP Go Swannies!!!
A friend of one of the friends who went with me last year, did the floral arrangements for the table. My friend got a free tkt as the florists' handbag. Spewin'!! I had a chance last year to purchase a ticket and didn't want to cause I wanted to go to punt road oval instead of glamming up with hairdryers, make up and the like.

I HAVE BEEN KICKING MYSELF EVER SINCE. I saw the pics!

I'd love to go this year, but now can't afford it. You have a top night, win or lose.
          Bugger!!

Don't think I'll be into good a state win or lose to go to the club dinner, I've got some Package tickets to the Melbourne FC GF Lunch and good seats for the game M12 RD - did pay a fortune but who cares it'll be worth it just to be there.

That was the most overblown non-event of the night. I think it was a grateful fan who presented Nick with the bucket. Someone I was talking to said "you should see Nick over there - he's just got a bucket of KFC. I arrived to see Micky O and a few others wolfing it down but not Nick. I asked Nick "this is too good a chance to pass up, can I get some pics of you into the KFC?" and he said sure and dived in again while I photographed.

There was noone around, including players and coaches who didn't think it was very funny (well Magic just seemed keen on the fat overdose). The mood seemed to be that, after winning the GF, if anyone had a right to be indulged it was Nick for that final Geelong quarter.

I really hope that it didn't come back to bite him on the bum - but I think the KFC was an outside perception while this year there were issues within the player group.

And the plan is to hit Lygon street on Friday night again - check the alternate venues with Eirinn and Tuesday.

Don't fancy the commute from where I am, somehow.

A 12-hour flight back to Australia just for the grand final? The memories of 2005 are still pretty fresh... have fun, though!
